Laying nude as remaining small beads of water-soaked to chill through her skin, a figure held her breath even after her lungs pleaded.

Her cheeks bloated with air and her fingers ever so slightly traced her own lips, making sure no air was coming out.

Tiredness and lethargy took over her all while her heart hammered against her ribs, before long she let go of her breath.

Fresh air is always better, no?

Not even for young (Y/N) was the air any different, just a method she had found.

Reasonable enough to rid her of her thoughts for just a moment.

Finally, after having cool air hit her skin instead of being wrapped in heat in the majority of her body, she put on clothes. Loose enough for her to feel comfortable in, just enough for her not to feel suffocated in.

On one side; holding her breath, punching her thighs, and even ignoring incoming cars when crossing the street were daily things for young (Y/N). Doing so regularly. On the lighter note; she would write, doodle, or even read to help her cope with what was her reality.

Even with those practices, there was always one method that would help (Y/N) cope with what was her reality, watching anime. It was a simple thing that was enough for her to forget what her reality is, an escape for her.

Surrounded by black nothingness only light coming from a laptop illuminated the bedroom, as a figure with blankets bundled all over her and snacks around her bedside stared lifelessly at the sudden indecent ad at hand.

"I don't want to meet Lauren, I want to watch this right now!"

Frustrated, she repeatedly pressed down on the keyboard only for her laptop to come crashing down due to it.

Darkness came as a strong strangle on her when the laptop turned itself off, leaving her to drown in the silent emptiness.

Licking the inside of her cheek in an attempt to ease down on her frustration, (E/C) eyes trailed to the back of her head before she pulled out her phone from underneath her pillow.

She hasn't had a good laugh in the longest, one that wasn't due to a show, it was just simple fake smiles and gentle chuckles to avoid being isolated by peers.

The brightness of her phone made up for the light that had died just moments ago and the noises it made as she inserted her passcode was enough to break the silence.

Arguably, the number of notifications that popped up on her screen could have been from apps she no longer uses or from unanswered messages from her father who wanted the password for the wifi he had somehow forgotten.

"There will be a new season. ." Sucking on the inside of her bottom lip, with eyes focused heavily on her screen, she scrolled down until she saw a visually pleasing sight.

In aesthetic writing, a post with anime characters known and loved by her appeared right before her. Written were the words 'Shifting Realities' in perfectly clear font.

Comments underneath the post were all praise and gratitude for the person who posted it.

Reading through them all those who were grateful for the knowledge were ones who were able to escape their own reality and travel to the world of their favorite show.

"So quantum jumping?"

She quietly asked no one but herself as she scrolled further down at the comments, each sounding like a lie than the last to her.

Giving in to the human's daily sin, (Y/N) fell into temptation's grasp and tapped to read more about the post.

"Lala . . . consciousness . . . dada . . certain reality . . . intentional or not." Skimming past the explanation of what this newfound method was, she continued on reading.

Not yet did she buy the whole 'shifting' idea.

The flow of time came by quickly as one second the comforted girl cornered in dark was unexpectedly welcoming the warm rays of the sun rising from its long slumber.

Having been sucked into a new way to escape her reality, no sleep was given to the girl as she stayed up filling her head with the newfound knowledge.

"I really can shift then . . ."

Rapidly sitting up, her blanket was kicked off of her, and packages of opened snacks flew around, some of them - having half of what was inside- falling on the floor with a soft sound.

(Y/N) (L/N) hasn't genuinely laughed or smiled in a long time until the moment she realized she could sleep her problems away for a moment.
