Mum had stopped making the teas and ran to the door in hope that it could've news on Maxine (my best friend) The figure stepped into the house and gave me a big hug. I was surprised at first until I realised it was my grandma. She came and sat next to me. 'Are you alright?' she asked in a sweet voice. I nodded my head. My mum came into the room with 3 cup of teas.

It was now 3:00. Mum and Grandma had gone into the kitchen to talk. I was worried about Maxine. I couldn't stop thinking about her.  The police were patrolling the town. They came past are street every so often.

It was now 5:00 and the news was on. Mum had sent me upstairs while it was on. I listened at the top of the stairs in case there was any good news about Maxine. "A young boy has been confirmed missing today at 4:30pm" the reporter said "Another young girl  aged twelve has also gone missing confirmed at 6:00am. They have not been found yet.Police advise people to stay safe and don't go out alone." I ran to my room tears streaming down my face.
