TW: SPOUSAL ABUSE (Don't worry, it's not Kyman abuse)
When Kyle came home that night he ignored Judy's husband glaring at him from the porch and walked inside the house. "Eric! I'm home, honey!" He quickly took off his coat and his shoes and started walking around the house trying to find his wonderful husband. When he didn't see him downstairs he started to get worried but tried not to show it. "Eric! Where are you!?" He yelled, hoping that he would get an answer. He rushed up the stairs and opened the door to their bedroom and sighed in relief when he saw Eric fast asleep on their bed. "Thank god..." He mumbled, beginning to change out of his clothes and into some more comfortable ones.
After double-checking that Eric was still asleep, he went downstairs and started to work on making their dinner. He spent the next hour or so making chicken with dumplings and a cherry nut cake. Cooking had always been Kyle's biggest passion. His parents had always said that it was a woman's role, however, and that had made his really self-conscious about doing so. Eric seemed to love his cooking though so lately he had just been ignoring hs parents views about him acting like a housewife.
After around an hour, there was a knock at the door. By this point, Eric was sitting in the living room. Kyle quickly rushed to answer it after washing his hands, completely forgetting that he was wearing his apron. He swung the door open with a smile on his face that faltered as he saw who was at the door. It was fucking Judy. Kyle was about to shut the door on her when she quickly thrust her foot in the way of the door. Kyle discreetly rolled his eyes. "Yes? Do you need anything? I'm trying to cook mine and my husband's dinner." Ok, that was a partial lie. He had finished making their food about ten minutes ago.
"Well, yeas actually, I do. I just wanted to apologise for any impolite or rude and disruptive behaviour that I might have held with you and your husband." Judy whispered, Kyle looked at her sympathetically as he noticed her shaking and the fact that she had a black eye.
"Why don't you come in? There's something I would like to tell you anyway." Kyle lead Judy into the living room and had her sit down on the couch opposite to Eric. "Does your husband hit you, Judy? There are things that can be done to help you, you know?" Kyle asked delicately. He might not be her biggest fan, but Kyle hated seeing anyone going through abuse. He wouldn't even wish it upon his worst enemy.
Judy nodded her head lightly. Kyle reached out from his perch on the arm of Eric's armchair and took one of her hands in his. "If you would like us to," He looked at Eric, getting a nod from the man, "We can help. I'm a lawyer."
"I want to leave him... But it's his name on the house and the mortgage so I won't have anywhere to go. And I don't want my children to get dragged into this..." Judy mumbled, she was clearly scared.
"Don't worry about that. If he gets arrested for abuse then the house will automatically go to you so that you and your kids can stay there." Kyle said confidently. (I don't know if this is true or not but for my story it is.)
(SORRY TO LEAVE IT ON A CLIFFHANGER!)
