1900 hoursErica's POV
After eating the delicious chicken noodle soup, I went upstairs to my room. I was still distraught about my relapse with Ben, but I was slowly getting back to myself. I went to my desk and opened the package my father had brought me. The CIA seal was plastered on the front as well as many other stickers saying "classified info" and "authorized personnel only". I did my mandatory test for bombs and poisons, and after finding none, I opened the package. There was a number of things.
I opened the file. It looked like a CIA Mission Report folder. On the top I saw Ben's face attached with a paperclip, as well as info on the mission he had gone on and the results. He had successfully gone and thwarted SPYDER's plans once more, but the fallout was huge, at least for me. He had ended up dying but had saved the United States from destruction after SPYDER had found inactive nuclear weapons. He thwarted their plans and ended up getting the weapons from SPYDER's base to the CIA, but he had been killed in a corner store explosion just 2 days after. Although it was listed as an accident, it definitely was not.
Other stuff in the package included some of Ben's personal items. His phone was there, as well as a lock of his hair, his CIA identification, a circular piece of stone about 2 inches thick, and a piece of his clothing that had survived. I took out his phone and saw that he had a 5 digit passcode. I smiled, already knowing what it was. 37442 (it spells out Erica's name). His home screen loaded on, a picture of the sunset, but I quickly accessed the calculator app, entered a 16 digit code, then accessed his secure mode. I went back onto his home screen to see a picture of me and him. My mom had took it while we were on our mission to destroy SPYDER in England (although they hadn't actually been defeated then). I had an icy smile and he looked happy as ever, with his arm around me. I smiled, staring at it for minutes. I finally moved and surfed through his apps, looking for anything of interest. On the reminders app, I saw an expired date.
*June 16, 2022. Give Erica the present*
I thought back to that day. The day I graduated. It was coming up to 4 years since then. I was curious as ever, but I couldn't find out what it meant. I looked through his camera roll once more, and saw a lot of pictures of me, surveillance photos, and some circular looking object that I assumed was the one I had. I sighed and put his phone in one of my drawers. I took the lock of hair, and went to lie down on my bed. I played with it in my hands, imagining as if this was the real Ben and I was rubbing his hair. After a while, my phone buzzed.
*CIA*
*0600 Hours, tomorrow. At headquarters*I sighed. I had to get him out of my head. I had a mission to do tomorrow, presumably. I slipped all of the contents of the package into my utility belt. I settled into bed and fell fast asleep.
Thanks a ton for reading up to here. I know only a few people have seen my story but it means the world to me regardless. Have a good day! :)
