"Do I have to go?" Y/N asked their father tiredly, sitting in front of the vanity in their bedroom. "Yes, it's very important that all eligible members of the kingdom are present tonight." He replied from the doorway. "Ugh, okay. I'll be ready shortly." They said, then their father closed the door. That night was a big banquet at Castle Asgard, and all members of the kingdom who weren't servants or peasants were expected to be there. Y/N didn't think it would matter if they didn't show up, since they hated large crowds, but their father wouldn't allow it. They sighed deeply and put on decent clothes, before leaving the comfort of their bedroom and climbing onto the carriage to go to the castle. In a short amount of time, they arrived, and the Y/N and their father climbed off and entered the castle, where huge crowds of people were everywhere. Y/N instantly became anxious and bent their head down to avoid people looking at them. They made their way into the dining hall, where an even larger gathering was sitting at the several long tables that were set up. Y/N gulped and shuddered nervously, their anxiety getting worse at the constant sight of so many people. "We'll sit here." Their father said, approaching 2 empty seats right in the middle of a row. "Do we have to sit here?" Y/N asked, not wanting to be surrounded by that many people. "Yes, we do. Then we won't be left out of any important discussion." He replied. Y/N sighed and took their seat next to him, and the meal was shortly served. They picked at their food, having no appetite with the bad anxiety they were having. The people and the nosie combined was making it unbearable, and Y/N was nearing a breakdown. They glanced over and saw their father chatting with some people, so they did the smartest thing they could. They jumped up from the table and ran out of the room, storming down the hallways and going out a back door. They sighed and took in the cool, fresh air, finally free from the nightmare that was the banquet. They realized they were in the castle gardens, and decided to stroll around since they were already there. As they walked along the path, they caught sight of a green object moving behind some branches. Y/N ignored it and kept walking, only to see it again. "Is someone out here?" They asked loudly, looking around. When no answer came, they turned and continued on, only to find someone crossing the path in front of them. "Who are you?" They asked. "Show yourself!" The person turned their head and met Y/N's gaze. "I believe it's my place to ask who you are." A man's voice said. "My name is Y/N L/N. I was forced to attend the banquet with my father." They replied, trying to make out the man's face. "Who are you?" "I'm Loki, prince of Asgard." He answered, stepping forward and revealing himself. "Prince Loki? Why are you out here? Shouldn't you be at the banquet?" Y/N wanted to know, shocked. "Yes, I should be. But the large crowd was unbearable and I had to get away." He explained. "Really? I'm out here for the same reason!" Y/N told him. "I'm guessing you don't like being in crowds, like me?" Loki asked, a small smile on his face. "I certainly don't! They give me anxiety. But my father made me come anyway." "I know exactly how you feel!" Loki said, and they both laughed awkwardly. "Shall we walk together? Or do you wish to remain alone?" He asked a moment later. "I think I'd like that." Y/N replied, and they started walking along the path. The twosome chatted for a long time, about anything and everything they could think of. They clicked together immediately, and within a few hours of walking and talking, they had formed a strong connection. "I'm honestly glad my father made me come here now." Y/M confessed as the two of them sat on a bench. "And I'm glad I happened to be out here." Loki said, smiling softly. "It isn't very often I find comfort and happiness in other people." "I feel so special." Y/N said, chuckling awkwardly. "That's because you are special." He told them, leaning in slightly closer to them. They gazed into each other eyes for a moment, as wonderful feelings washed over Y/N. They could see in Loki's facial expression he was feeling something too. Y/N opened their mouth to speak, but Loki quickly shushed them, putting his finger to their lips. "There's no need to speak. I know you're feeling something too." Y/N's eyes widened, not knowing he knew the same thing they did. "Do all socially anxious people click like this?" They asked. "I don't know, but I'm glad I found out that sometimes they do." Loki replied. Without another word, he leaned in and kissed Y/N. It was passionate, but gentle. When their lips parted, Y/N pulled them back together again, keeping it sweet and gentle as not to make Loki uncomfortable. When they parted, he said, "I've never shared a kiss with someone before." "Neither have I." Y/N admitted, and they both chuckled. They gazed above them at the stars shining brightly down, and the moon, shedding a soft glow on the greenery around them. They smiled and moved closer to Loki, leaning their head against his shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around them in return. "I could stay like this for the rest of my life." Y/N said, sighing softly. "Me too. But this is far from the last time we'll do this." Loki assured them, smiling down on them. He kissed their forehead and looked up at the stars, a twinkle in his eyes. "This is the beginning of something beautiful, I know it. I'm now grateful for my father's persistence." Y/N said. "That's enough words. Just let the actions speak for themselves." Loki told them. They smiled at each other and shared another kiss, their worries and anxiety far behind them.
