The bar was crowded on that Friday night, with people coming and going almost non-stop. Y/N sat on a barstool, scrolling through their phone and not paying any attention to the people around them. They considered themself introverted, and didn't care for being in crowded, busy places. They were only there because their friend had made them go, who had abandoned them awhile ago to get drunk with some other friends they ran into. As Y/N continued scrolling through their phone, casually sipping a glass of wine, they felt someone bump into them from behind. Unprepared, they fell forward, accidentally tipping their glass over. The liquid fell onto their fresh, clean outfit. "Look what you made me do!" Y/N shouted, spinning around to see the culprit. There stood a tall man, who was quite attractive in Y/N's opinion. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!" He exclaimed in a British accent. "Obviously! I'm sure you aren't aware I have to get this dry-cleaned." They said, trying not to get distracted by his piercing blue eyes. "I had no idea! Oh God, I'm so ashamed." He said. "Let me cover the costs to have your outfit cleaned." He pulled out his wallet and offered some money. "No, please, keep it! It was am accident." Y/N told him. "I insist. Please take it. It would make me feel much better about this unfortunate event." He said. "Alright then." Y/N agreed, taking the money. "I appreciate your behavior over the issue." "I did the best I could." He said, chuckling. "By the way, my name is Jonathan Pine." He added, offering his hand to shake. "I'm Y/N L/N." After they shook hands, Jonathan asked, "May I buy you a drink?" "Why not?" They agreed, giving him space to sit on the stool next to them. "What do you want?" He inquired as the bartender came over. "I'll take (your favorite drink/non-alcoholic if you wish)" After ordering drinks for the two of them, the twosome proceeded to make small talk. Y/N learned that Jonathan was a manager at a local hotel, who came to the bar every Friday night for some fun and relaxation. He didn't reveal much else about himself, and Y/N thought his mysteriousness was intriguing. As they sat in a comfortable silence, they're friend, F/N (friend's name) stumbled over to them. "H-hey Y/N?" They asked, holding onto the counter for balance. "C-can you b-buy me another d-drink? I'm out of m-money." They slurred. "I think you've had enough to drink for one night." Y/N replied, exasperated with their friend's behavior. They knew they would have to be the designated driver for the night, again. "What d-do you mean? I'm n-not even drunk y-yet." They said, leaning over to them. "C'mon, help a f-friend o-out." "No." Y/N said sternly. "You are drunk, and you're making a fool out of yourself." F/N shrugged their shoulders and stumbled away. "I'm so sorry you had to see that." Y/N apologized to Jonathan. "I promise they don't get like that every time we go out." "It's okay." He said, chuckling. "I thought it was kind of funny anyway." "You must have a weird sense of humor." They told him, giggling. "Do you want to get out of here? The noise is getting a bit uncomfortable." Jonathan asked. "I agree! Let's step outside." Y/N answered. The twosome got up from their stools and went out the front door, then sat down on the sidewalk against the building. "Can I tell you something?" Jonathan asked, looking at Y/N. They looked back at him and nodded. "I'm really glad I spilled wine on you." He stifled a chuckle. "You are?" Y/N asked, also finding it amusing. "If I hadn't, we never would've met, or started talking. You seem like a really fun person, and I'd like to keep in touch, if you wanted?" Y/N was glad he couldn't see them blushing in the dim light. "I'd love to! And I couldn't agree with you more." They smiled at each other, then exchanged phone numbers. "I really should be getting to the hotel. My shift starts in 30 minutes." Jonathan said, standing up. "It was great meeting you! Let's get together again sometime." Y/N said. "That'd be wonderful! I'll talk to you soon!" He said, waving as he crossed the parking lot to his car. Y/N waved back and smiled happily. Thank God F/N got drunk, or they never would've made a great new friend, who they still thought was awfully attractive-
