- Sitting up and carefully pushing my friends off of me I wiped away tears off my face and got to my feet. "Moon, you-" one of my friends began. I walked out of the tent and into the edge of the forest. I didn't know which of them spoke and I didn't care. All I did care about was that nightmare.
- Was it a warning? Or was I just paranoid?
- Footsteps approached behind me and I turned around, hands up, ready to much whoever - or whatever - was behind me.
- "Woah Moon, it's just me!" A hand caught my fist and lowered it to my side. I opened my eyes, which I didn't know I had closed, and saw it was Night.
- I sigh, tempting to calm myself down and turned back to the forest edge.
- "Sorry . . ."
- "Don't be." Night was beside me now, her hand on my shoulder. " we all get a little jumpy after bad dreams."
- I nod slowly. Night was a good friend, and I was happy to have her by my side. I opened my mouth to speak but closed it again when Night beat me to it. She can be rude at times though. I thought. Even if she didn't mean it.
- "Moon, we can turn and go back home if you-" Night spoke but I quickly cut her off.
- "Night, No." I said sternly. "We came out here to celebrate our seven years of friendship, and I won't ruin it because of some stupid dream I had." Her hand was off my shoulder now, but mine rested on both of hers.
- Sighing, Night had nodded. "Alright, let's pack up. We have a long trip till our next campsite." I took my shoulders off of her and followed as she waddled through the forest brush back to the clearing.
- When we got back, Snow has already pack most of everything and was now finishing up.
- Feeling guilty of not helping her I took down my tent before she could and put it up along with changing too some camouflage jeans and a black, tucked in T-shirt and steal-toe boots.
- "Snow, Moon, you ready?" Night called from the other side of the clearing.
- We nodded and caught up to her as we heading on the trail behind Night.* * *
- It was almost Sun-high - noon - as we reached another clearing. This time it was more of a resting area with three logs forming a triangle around a huge tree stump in the middle. And I'm the opposite side was
a small stream trickling by. It was beautiful.
- Snow poked my shoulder and pointed to the logs. "Eat?" She asked in a whisper.
- I nodded and the three of us say out stuff down by the logs and pulled out our lunch. We each had sandwiches - of which was turkey, mayo and cheese - and ate them as we sat down as well.
- I was the last to finish. Snow and Night were playing thumb war as I stood up and swing my Backpack over my shoulders. "Ready?" I asked with a slight yawn.
- Night pulled away from Snow and shook her head. "We need to fill
Up our water supply." She said pointing to the stream.
- I sighed and waited as the brunette grabbed our canteens and walked to the stream. A minute passed and she slashed the water into them and came back.
- "Now we're ready." She said, booking my water to my Backpack and Snows to hers.
- Night took the lead and we headed down a trail with a sapling growing in the middle of its rocky path.
