⚠️This chapter has you being friends with Aoi and therein has mentions of her, if she triggers you or makes you uncomfortable this isn't the chapter for you⚠️

Your name is (f/n) (l/n), you're the ultimate (y/u), and ultimately in love with the biggest idiot on campus. When you say idiot you mean it as a compliment, his goofy demeanor was what lulled you into falling for him. Yep, you're hopelessly head over heels for none other than Yasuhiro Hagakure. None of your friends understand it, but they still encourage you to pursue it. With Valentine's day swiftly approaching, they've been especially pushy.

They once again walked into Hope's Peak, what a prestigious school they had the honor of attending.

"(F/nnn)!" A familiar voice immediately caught their attention, they look to the source. Ah, their good friend Aoi, alongside being the person they're closest to. "Hey! I just had a great idea this morning.~" She smiles, her eyes sparkling with ambition as she began walking alongside (f/n).

"C'mon Aoi again? Whatever you have planned I don't wanna hear it." They try dismissing her, recalling the various failed attempts.

"Whaaaat? Frankly I'm offended (f/n), not even listening to my suggestion." She crossed her arms, pouting at them. "If you wanna be with that idiot so bad you gotta take my advice!" (F/n) rolls their eyes.

"You want me to be with him more than I do." They squint at her. "Why are you so insistent?" Aoi rubbed the back of her neck, chuckling a bit.

"Can't I just wanna help a friend? Being with someone you love is amazing." She sighed. "I don't want one of my bestest friends being alone on Valentine's day." (F/n) furrowed their brow, putting their hands on their face briefly. After a few seconds of silence they admitted defeat.

"Fine, what do you have in mind Hina?" This seemed to excite the swimmer girl, she started moving around like she had just drank an energy drink.

"Ok so hear me out! I call this puppy 'Operation:Fortune Cookie of Love'! We make a fortune cookie and plant a fake a fortune in it, and you plant it while you two are eating Chinese food!" She looked proud of herself, fists on her hips. They inhaled deeply, reluctant to accept or deny.

"If I say yes will this be the last time you bug me about this?" She nodded enthusiastically.

"I won't bug you about it ever again!" She extended her hand, pinky out. Begrudgingly, they returned the gesture, sealing the pinky promise.

For the most part they went about their day, Hina bugging them at various points to test different ways of phrasing the fortune. They didn't mind terribly, primarily just tired from the previous attempts, like her trying to make them literally bump into yasuhiro and drop their books like some cliche romance story. They dreaded the end of the day, when their beloved friend would force them to ask Hiro to go for Chinese food. The day felt both so quick yet so slow, and before they knew it, their feet were dragging against the pavement, propelled by their athletic friend.

"I know I agreed but do I really have to ask him?" They pleaded, extremely nervous.

"Yes you have to! I wrote the fortune so you have to be sitting by him!" She insisted, pushing you further as the clairvoyant begin coming into sight. As soon as he saw them, Hiro waved, smiling at his buddies. Hina quickly stopped pushing (f/n) and they stumbled, trying to catch their balance.

"Oh hey (f/n)! What's up buddy?" He looked at them, his usual dopey grin on his face. They looked down to the ground, trying to mask their shyness.

"Um, do you wanna, y'know, go get some Chinese food together?" They looked back to Hiro, eyes frozen on his handsome face. They discreetly admired his stubble, and his defined jawline.

"Sure, I'm down! You mean like right now, yeah?"

"Yeah, right about now."

"Then let's go!" The two began walking, Aoi watching proudly. Her work wasn't done yet, she still had to guide them through the plan. She whipped out her phone, ready to help (f/n) on a whim.

The duo stood in line, waiting for their order. (F/n) felt butterflies in their stomach, pondering why they had agreed to this plan. They zoned out, until they were snapped out of it as they felt a warm paper bag in their hands. It was time, time for the distraction. They walked out of the Chinese restaurant, and on cue came the distraction. The lucky talisman Aoi had came flying by, but flying meant being thrown, by someone or something just out of sight. Hiro immediately recognized it.

"Holy crap, finding one of these has to be extra lucky! Wait up!" He chased after it, and (f/n) hastily swapped the fortune cookies, one from the store, and the one Aoi had made. Success. Not long after Yasuhiro had come back, talisman in hand. "Man, what a lucky day! Now let's dig in, no doubt there's more fortune to be found in a fortune cookie! It's in the name!" They both sat down on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant window. (f/n) made sure not to get a fortune cookie for themself to make sure they didn't accidentally mix up the fortunes. As they began digging in, Hiro was eager to open the fortune cookie first, hoping to maintain his luck streak.

Craaack. 'You future is in front of you'. He looked up from the fortune, and at (f/n), who was sat in front of him. He looked over the fortune once more, squinting. (F/n) got nervous, freezing mid-bite.

"(F/n)?" He looked back up at them. (F/n) started coughing.

"Yes?" They looked to the boy in front of them.

"Call it my intuition, but did Aoi put you up to this?" (F/n) nearly spat their food up back through their nose.

"H-how did you know?"

"I recognize her handwriting anywhere. Bud, can you just tell me why?" They sighed, looking away from Hiro shamefully.

"She was trying to find a way to set you and I up." They couldn't help but tell the truth. "It was a pretty dumb plan thinking back on it." They suddenly felt a warm hand on their shoulder, they looked to him.

"So do you genuinely want to be part of my future?" They nodded quietly, starting to get flustered. He smiled "I don't. I want it to be our future!" He proudly declared, grinning widely. (F/n) smiled back quietly.

"That was so cheesy, but cheese is good sometimes." They held their drink up. "To our future." He gleefully joined the toast, the day becoming the first day of the rest of their lives together. From that point it truly was their future, together.
