"Uncle Henry!" Lilly practically bounced into her uncle's room to shake the shoulder of his sleeping form. "Uncle Henry, you have got to see this!"
Henry tried to bury himself back into his bed and sleep, but he remembered that with Lilly it was pointless. Sitting up, Henry let out a tired groan, "Okay. What is it, Lilly?"
Lilly dashed towards the window and pointed outside, "Look, just look!"
Henry snorted out a yawn as he slipped out of his nice, warm bed to stand next to Lilly. Looking out of the window he could see that outside was carpeted with white and snowflakes were dancing at the glass pane. "It snowed last night?" Henry asked and Lilly hummed an affirmative. Henry smiled, "Have the toons seen this yet?"
Lilly shook her head, "Nope, they're still sleeping. I saw that Bendy was curled up on a hoard of stolen cookies." Lilly giggled at the last part.
Henry's sigh was tired, "Of course. I'll probably have to go get some more if the others want some today."
Lilly jumped in excitement, "Or we could make some! It would be a great family activity! You can get dressed while I start breakfast. Then, we can wait for the toons to wake up before we prepare to play outside."
Just as Lilly was about to leave the room Henry called out to her, "Are we sure that it would be safe for the toons? We know what rain will do to their ink. What if the snow could do the same?"
"Trust me, I have a good feeling about this. And we'll keep an eye on them."
Henry got dressed and Lily started working on breakfast. Soon enough, the toons came clambering down to eat. Bendy was jumping up and down, "Lilly! Lilly, did ja' see? Everything is white outside!"
Lilly chuckled, "Yep. It snowed last night. A lot by the looks of it."
"That was snow?" Alice asked.
"It doesn't look that much different than it does in the cartoons," Boris noted.
Lilly smiled at the toons, "Nope, snow is usually always white."
"Well, come' on! Let's go make a snowman!"
Bendy nearly bolted outside before Lilly grabbed him, "Oh, hold it young demon! We need to eat breakfast first and then put on some warm winter clothes. And then we can go play in the snow."
"Alright. I guess that I can wait a bit longer," Bendy dramatically sighed as he sat at the table.
Lilly smiled, "For breakfast today, I thought that it would be nice to make Winter Porridge."
Boris licked at his muzzle as Lilly set a steaming bowl in front of each of the toons. "This looks delicious, Lilly!" Alice commented.
Lilly was preparing Henry's bowl before she started eating her serving. "I hope you guys enjoy it. And Bendy, you better not run off before everyone else is finished and ready."
Bendy put his bowl down after he already poured half of the porridge in his mouth. He comically swallowed his food and offered an embarrassed chuckle before continuing more slowly.
Once the toons were finished eating breakfast, it was time for the struggle of putting winter clothes on them. The coats and extra gloves were easy to slip on. Hats took some maneuvering around horns and Boris's ears. But the hard part was getting the snow boots to fit over Bendy's shoes. In a matter of minutes, everyone was dressed in winter gear and Lilly was opening the door to the yard. Within the blink of an eye, Bendy had zipped outside and was holding a ball of snow.
A shiver made its way up to his body as he shaped the ball in his hands, "Whoo! It's colder than in da cartoons!"
Lilly laughed as Boris and Alice went out to feel the snow for themselves. Bendy tossed the snowball like a softball as he glanced at the snow around them, "It's so cold, I think ma ink is literally freezin'!"
Lilly gestured to the interior of the house, "We can go back inside if it's too cold for you guys."
Bendy clutched the snowball against his coat, "Noooo!" He then looked down as he realized that the snowball had returned into Powderly snow when he pressed it against his coat. The demon pouted and Lilly laughed again as she closed the door behind her.
Lilly helped the toons construct a snowman, Alice slipping back inside to grab a hat, and Boris lifting the smaller snowball on the top of the bigger one for the head. With the snowballs stacked, Lilly lifted Bendy so that he could place the coal eyes and hat on. "This is the best snowman ever!" Bendy proclaimed.
"It's almost as handsome as you," Lilly poked Bendy where his nose would have been.
Bendy smiled and Boris wagged his tail, "We wouldn't be here making this snowman if it wasn't for you and Henry."
"Yeah, I guess that you can't get a lot of snow in the studio. Too much ink," Lilly laughed.
"I definitely don't miss those hallways flooded with ink," Alice frowned at the memory.
"Or hearin' Sammy chantin' praise for me," Bendy shuddered.
"And out here there are a lot of more delicious foods than just bacon soup," Boris licked his muzzle.
"I still miss the Hammerspace," Bendy sighed.
"How's this for a hammer?!" Lilly cried as she jumped up to grab at a snow-laden branch that was hanging over them. The clumps of snow from the tree collapsed on top of the two, completely burying Bendy. Lilly sat up with a laugh and turned to where the Dancing Demon was just standing. But, they couldn't see a trace of him. Lilly tilted her head to the side as a strange presence started giving her chest a slight squeeze.
Just as Lilly's smile was about to drop off of her face, Bendy's head popped from under the snow. "That was awesome!" Bendy cackled.
Alice stood over him with a stern glare, "This is no laughing matter. We thought that the snow had melted your ink! We were worried!"
"Really?" Bendy gave Alice and Boris an apologetic smile before turning to Lilly, "Ya were worried, Lilly?"
The question seemed so ridiculous that Lilly laughed and wrapped one arm around Bendy while her other hand rubbed the hat on the top of his head. "You're alright, so there's nothing to worry about."
Bendy teasingly pushed Lilly off and shook the snow off of his hat. "Of course I'm alright! It takes more than a little bit of snow to get rid of me!"
"The rain almost melted your ink when you got caught in it," Alice pointed out.
"And snow is frozen water," Lilly nodded. "But everything is okay. How about we go inside for hot cocoa and then we can bake some cookies? Does that sound good?"
"Making a snowman and cookies? Best snow day ever!" Bendy cheered as he scrambled towards the door. Lilly laughed as she followed Bendy with Boris and Alice.
