Swami might have been ten years of age. At that time He went alongwith His father and the Merchants’ association members to Ooti on a tour. There used to be a bookseller’s house four blocks away from our house. He too had gone on that tour. They all went to Simson park in Conoor, finished sightseeing and were resting under a Rudraksha tree. The bookseller rested his head on Swami’s lap and told Swami, ‘Narrate some story for me.’ Swami started to narrate the ‘Karna Moksha’ story (from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. It is a story of how Karna attained liberation and rested in peace in the hands of Lord Krishna). As Swami completed the story, his (the bookseller’s) life rested in peace on Swami’s very lap.
