Our Chemistry

Its monday morning and im laying in my bed staring at the ceiling. Suddenly I hear my alarm ring and I realise I havent slept for one bit. Max hasnt left my mind for once since the weekend we spent together. Then I hear my mom yell something from her room

"Get up right now and put that loud alarm away and get to school!" My mom yells seeming angry.

Gosh doesnt she know I can take care of my own life just fine by myself. Honestly I dont even wanna go to school. Sure ill see Thor and Lucas, but Max. How the hell am I gonna act normal around him from now on. I think im in love with that guy. Or well, atleast crushing.

I get up and put on a brave face.

"Come on I can do this, ill just go to school and be as normal around Max as I can" I say to myself and before I have time to even think I realise my school starts in just 10 minutes.

I jump up, pull on my black skinny jeans almost tripping onto the floor, grap my bag and rush out of the door into the beautiful sunny outside, which sadly I cant stop to admire as I got to run to school.

I arrive at the school where I see the boys waiting outside and I stop to say hi.

"Gosh youre really good at being late" Lucas says

"Damn right, look at you all sweaty" Says Max as he wipes the sweat off my forehead

"Oh uh.. Thanks Max, but whyd you wanna touch my gross sweat" I question

"Just helping a bestfriend out" Max smiles

A bestfriend, that felt good. Much better than just calling me his mate. Maybe he also likes me. Considering we've only known eachother for a few days and im already his bestfriend. Why would he like me tho. Maybe im taking this too far. Fuck what am I thinking again.

Before freaking out more suddenly I feel someone poke my forehead.

"I swear to god if you dont stop zoning out like that, its kinda freaky you know" Thor says

"Oh im sorry, I dont know whats wrong with me" I say embarrassed

"Nothings wrong with you, now come on because we all four are skipping school today" Max says

"Woah you guys really hate school dont you" I say

"Fuck school, I mean you agreed last time so.." Max says

"Yeah yeah I know, now race to the bikes!" I say and start running towards the boys bikes

I get to there first and suddenly I feel something bump into my back.

"Ouch the hell was that!" I yell

I look back and see Max on the floor. Then I realise. Looks like Max tried a bit too hard, couldnt stop and then bumped into me.

"Oh come on Max" I say a bit frustrated as I help him up

"Well sorry.." Max says ending it with a sigh

I get on Maxs bike as he climbs to sit on the back again. I grin at Lucas and Thor as I suddenly pick up speed and start biking as fast as I can.

"Oh hell no, im not losing this one!" Lucas says and starts following me, Thor right behind him

Im just about to reach the store as I feel Max grap onto me. I feel the butterflies fill my stomach all over again. Suddenly I hear Thor yell something

"This is bullshit, ofcourse youre gonna win when Max got the best bike and he gives you more weight which makes it go faster!" Thor yells seeming angry

"Oh come on Thor, youre just a bad loser thats all" Max grins

"Max speaking facts over here" Me and Lucas say at the same time

First I look at Lucas, then at Max, then we burst out laughing at the same time and I feel Max lean onto my back.

"You guys are mean, you want me to buy you fucking beer or no?" Thor says still angry

"Sorry Thor but I wasnt thinking we'd buy beer, its just gonna go to waste anyway, I think ill wait outside for you guys" I say

"Well im going with Thor, ill buy us snacks or something" Lucas says and starts following Thor

"I dont even have money, ill stay here and wait with y/n" Max says and grins at me

Together time with just Max? Sounds amazing but also like a really bad idea.

"You know the boys can get really annoying sometimes, you seem much cooler" Max says

"Oh really?" I grin at Max

"Mhm!" Max says and smiles

Then there comes a moment for the awkward silence. That always happens and I usually think nothing of it but with Max I dont like it. What if he will think im just one embarrassing and an awkward weirdo. No that goes way over. He wouldnt think that, would he.

Then I get an idea. I put on my brave face and after a few seconds of more silence, I mumble out 8 words.

"Wanna hang out with just me some time?" I mumble out

"Huh?" Max says and gets closer

"You know.. Wanna come to my house some time, just us" I say looking at the ground

"Yeah why not, ill be fine without the boys for one night" Max says

"Wait night?" I question

"Yeah, didnt you mean like an sleepover?" Max says

"Oh uh uh.. Yeah! Sleepover would be awesome" I say still a bit shaky

"Its a plan then!" Max says excited

Before I have time to process what just happened, Thor and Lucas walk out of the store with tons of snacks on their hands.

"Heh look what we got" Thor says grinning at me and Max

"Fuck yeahhh!" Max yells full of excitment

We go to the empty parking lot and sit there with all our snacks. We have the best time talking about the most random things while filling ourselves with all the snacks and sodas. The whole time I slowly start to get closer to Max and at one point even our knees are touching. Then I realise it. Im so in love with this guy. And maybe theres some chemistry between us. Or am I just going way too far with my thoughts again. Who the hell knows. But me y/n is officially in love with Max Newman. Yes, I admit it.
