The sky was a murky gray as a calloused hand slapped my arm. I glanced over but everything was dark like it had been covered in ink. I could now only see the sky, but I could sense another body nearby. I saw a hand hit my face but felt nothing. I touched it, and brought my hand down to see blood. A face appeared slowly and I tried to see who it was as "Hello Hurricane" by Switchfoot filled the air.
I jumped back in surprise. And hit my head against something hard. I touched my head and realized I was lying on my bed. I was.. lying.. I was... sleeping... It.. was.... a dream. Phew.
It was midnight. The ice cream run.
I needed to wash myself from this disaster. I sneaked quietly into the bathroom and washed my face trying to wake myself up and forget about that dream.
I cleared my head and looked at myself straight on in the mirror. I looked really tired. Good thing it was dark out. Then I sneaked downstairs.
Isaac was pulling our cartons of icecream out of freezer and placing them on the counter.
"Think you own the place, huh?" I whispered behind him. He jumped back in surprise and I shushed him.
"I'm just trying to be helpful" he replied a joking smile creeping up his face.
"OMYGoodness when did you get so mature? I remember the days when you would have chucked that ice cream at me and and claimed you did own the place!"
"That's kinda what I wanted to talk to you about..." He dragged on. He left the "later" silent but I knew what he was implying.
I silently took two scoops of Triple Chocolate and plopped them into my bowl. I then skillfully mixed in peanut butter and topped it with gummy bears, I think. I'm not really sure actually. It was pretty dark.
After we cleaned up a little we took our ice cream bowls and sneaked into the basement.
I sat on the side couch and brought my legs up to keep warm."So what did you want to tell me?" I ask getting straight to the point.
"Well I guess... what I wanted to say was... I met someone" Que. heartbreak. "He's abousolutly amazing. He has given me life and really turned my life upside down ." He continued.
Wait.
Wait.....
What?
He was gay? How the. What.. I ..I....I never would have pegged him to like guys. I... this.... omygosh.
He kept talking but I wasn't really paying attention. Great friend, I know. I was just trying to wrap my mind around this. And now my ice cream was melting. Sad face.
He looked at me expectantly asking what I thought.
"I just... I don't know what to say. I didn't really know you felt that way."
He sighed, "I'm just glad you're not mad, I know you're an atheist, but really if you met him too, you'd love him."
I was about to reply when a blasting light blinded my eyes.
"Aha! I knew I heard something" Aidens voice fills the air, and I tried to make out there shapes in the darkness.
"What are you two lovebirds doing down here?" Josh asks suggestively while pointing the flashlight in my eyes; implying that it was my turn to talk.
"Only having a deep make out sesh." I said sarcastically. "You wouldn't know but Isaac is really good with his tongue"
I don't think they really liked my comment. Aiden looked like he was going to punch something, Isaac frowned, and Josh looked disgusted and angry.
