The next day Gabriel went to the palace and went to speak to the court, Marinette and Adrien were there and they all went to the same room to discuss the Engagement and seeing if it was lawful or not and settling out the logistics for it.
Marinette woke up early this morning for the meeting in the engagement, they will propose the idea and the archbishop will also be there.
Her lady in waiting Alya helped her get ready, today she's wearing a beautiful violet dress with a dark purple corset and black lace shoes.
After she got ready she walked over to the Palace office and there was Gabriel Agreste, Adrien Agreste, Nathalie, and the archbishop.
The meeting lasted about 2 hours and this is how it went
"Why should we let you two wed?"
"What shall Adrian's royal title be"
"Will there heirs be legitimate or inherit the throne."
And things like that.
In the end they were given permission to wed.
After a few minutes of chatting Adrien brought up a major question "Are you sure you want to do this?" Marinette didn't have to think much about it "Of course, truth be told I had a crush on you in 10 grade, and it will protect you from your father."
Adrien was very shocked at how poised Marinette is "So, this marriage is both a good political match and out of love too!"
Marinette was taken aback "what do you mean by love?"
"W-Well I may have a small crush on you..."
At this point Marinette reverted back to her old 15 year old girl ways "R-real-really!"
Adrien respectfully laughed at her antics "Yes, ever sense 10th grade too!"
They chatted for a bit and than the royal chandelier and the archbishop came in and said "We need to speak to Lord Adrien."
Adrien had this confused look and he followed orders and went with them.
