Man's pride

"You think this is funny?!" Luffy shouted.

"Ohh.. Luffy." Ace sighed.
Sabo said the same thing, quietly so only the people part of the revolutionary army could hear.

"He made you look like a weakling!! Why didn't you fight him?!" Luffy shouted angrily. " Sure they outnumbered you, and maybe they looked pretty tough, but what kind of man let's himself be treated like that then laughs about it? You're a disgrace to all pirates! He continued.

Some of the rookie pirates or just ones who just don't get it agreed with young Luffy. But, of course they wouldn't admit it out loud because they were to prideful to say they agreed with a child.

The people who knew the reason why, understood why Luffy thought that way. Because although it did seem that way it was more than a matter of pride.

".... When you grow up maybe you'll understand. He just got some grog on me , that's all. Needless killing doesn't make you a man." Shanks replied.

The people who knew he would probably answer like that we're pleased. They were satisfied that at least their were still sone who understood the true feeling and meaning of being a pirate.
On the other hand there were still people, not only pirates who disagreed with him thinking that they would never allow someone to disrespect them like that.

"Hey where are you going!" Shanks called out to Luffy as he grabbed his arm.
"Hmph! To find a new role model." Luffy said as he stomped away.

'BWOING'
"PFFSH!!" Everyone spit out their drinks. With shocked faces.
"What!!"
"Hey!!" Luffy exclaimed

The people who hadn't seen or heard about devil fruit were quite surprised.
"What happened to his arm!?"
"Why is his arm stretching!?"
" He's a freak!"

Some people (and a certain reindeer) slightly grimaced a those last words.

"Hey come on not cool man. There's hella people with devil fruits in here. There not freaks they are living beings like us just a little special no big deal. Your probably just jealous cause Luffy's power is so awesome." Mena said.
(Cringe😖🤢 what kind of speech is that)

The ones with devil fruits felt better that someone without a devil fruit would stuck up for them and we're grateful.

"S-sorry." The man apologized.
"Anyway now that things are-." Mena was going to say.

" Wait. Mena right?" Nami asked.

" Yeah. How can I help you?" Mena said trying to keep cool that THE CAT BURGLAR NAMI was talking to her.

" It's been a while since you talked, what were you doing? How's luffy?" Nami asked.
The other straw hats nodded they had been worried about Luffy as well.

" Oh now that you mention it. I just finished checking up on him. He's doing fine. He stomach stated grumbling so I gave some food. Not surprised that he ate while he was still sleep." Mena answered.

The straw hats sighed with relief. Luffy was doing fine. While others wondered how eating in your sleep was possible. Ones who know Luffy knew that he made the impossible possible.

"Okay I don't think we have any more questions. So we can continue." Mena said.

"His arm's stretching!!" Shanks shouted. "Does this mean... did he..." he continued.
