Real Life

Infinity War set

After paying her Uber driver, Julianna turned and ogled at the giant movie set in front of her. She had never done a high-budget film before, only a few commercials and an Indie film last year, and the bundle of nerves in her stomach weren't going away anytime soon. Glancing quickly down at her phone to ensure she knew where she was going, she set out to find Lot B. 

As she passed by numerous props and workers, Julianna's eyes maintained their awestruck glint. Once she finally found the sign that said Lot B, she realized that she had yet to run into any other actors. Entering the large building, she found the room she was looking for and all of her first day jitters came rushing back as she took in the people in front of her. The majority of the Marvel cast turned towards her as the door she came through slammed loudly shut behind her.

Julianna cringed as the room erupted into laughter, causing a small smile to gradually form on her face.

"Julianna!" A figure she determined to be Anthony Russo exclaimed as the room quieted down.

"Hi!"

"You made quite the grand entrance," he teased with an easy grin. 

"I think you mean I made quite the SLAM entrance," she responded, immediately grimacing. As cringey as her pun was (and as much as she wanted to crawl into a hole after saying it), the occupants of the room began to laugh again.

"You're going to fit right in with these jokesters," Anthony said as he led her to an empty seat. The room quieted down as Anthony and Joe made their way to the front.

"Alrighty then, we're still missing a couple of people, but we can go ahead and get going. Welcome back to those of you returning, and welcome to the team to our newbies," Joe said, looking pointedly at Julianna. She hated the attention that came to her as more people turned to stare, and she awkwardly pushed her curly dark hair back behind one ear. 

Listening intently to what the directors had to say before they started filming, Julianna was surprised when they wrapped things up and said it was time for a small break. 

Julianna gathered her things and took a moment to take in the insanely talented people she was in the presence of. Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow smiled and nodded at her as they exited, and Tom Hiddleston shook her hand and introduced himself when he passed by. Across the room she could see Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson laughing at something, and to her right she took in the godly presence that was Chris Hemsworth as he joked with Tom Holland. 

"Crazy right?" A voice said behind her. Whirling around, Julianna grinned as she was met face to face with Elizabeth Olsen.

"For sure! I'm literally still in shock I'm here," she said with a laugh, gesturing to the room around her.

Elizabeth nodded and thought back to her first time being on a Marvel movie set. "I'm just happy I have another girl here." She nudged Julianna's shoulder. "Too much testosterone."

Julianna let out a quiet giggle. "What even happens next? Not everyone is needed yet right?"

"Nope, not yet. After this break, the Russos will probably divide us by scene, and then those of us who aren't needed will head out to the trailers until later today. Speaking of!" Elizabeth exclaimed. "We're trailer mates! Normally ScarJo and I share, but with the addition of another gal here now, she's getting her own."

"What this is great! Ugh I have so many questions--I don't know 90% of movie set lingo yet," Julianna said sheepishly.

"Well I am a great teacher," Elizabeth said with a warm smile. Before she could ask Julianna what she wanted to know, the Russo's called everyone's attention back to them and began discussing scenes.

Julianna took another look around the room and smiled to herself. 

She was finally living her dream.
