Science is boring.

Ingrid sighs lightly as she sits at her desk, picking at the name tag taped on the front of it. Her eyes wander off her book and to the east wall where she stares at the wall clock, willing it's hands to move faster.

She likes most of her classes. History is intresting and enlightening and makes you think. English and Writing are not her forte but she enjoys them nonetheless. Arithmetic is... passable. But, Science is annoying. It's all a bunch of theories and research that Ingrid does not appreciate. All the things about how the sun's rays move and assumptions about the human mind and how we feel emotion. Some is intresting, even useful, but the majority of it confuses and aggravates her.

So, for the next 15 minutes, she begrudgingly follows along. Her mind can't help but wander to different subjects. She begins recounting answers on her hour previous Arithmetic quiz.

"Ingrid, please read paragraph 7 out loud for the class."

Her eyes shoot up from the desk, wide with panic.

"Uh- y-yes, Ma'am!"

There are light snickers as she hurriedly glances around the page of the textbook to find it.

Ingrid mentally kicks herself. Getting distracted from her professor's carefully thought out lecture. It's just rude.

Suddenly, a certain red-head taps her shoulder after she's finished reading.

"Yes?" She whispers curtly.

"Loathing science much?" He knew, of course he did.

Ingrid nodded gently.
"Always have, always will."

Sylvain says nothing, just smiles and entwines his fingers as he watches the professor.

The blonde rolls her eyes, flipping the page of her book.

Ingrid's suffered 20 minutes more of class when there's a knock on the classroom door.

Grateful for the distraction, she leans back and stretches her arms up over her head. She yawns and the male snickers.

Her head turns promptly in his direction, eyes narrowing in a glare.
"Shut up."

"Never." He was challenging her and he knew it.

Ingrid's mouth opens briefly but is interrupted.

"Helloooo everybody!"

Her head turns again, this time in direction of the doorway, where a girl with long maroon hair stands. The girl's matching green eyes survey the room, searching til she finds the blonde.

"As you all may know; our lovely academy is doing 'Singing Valentines' for Valentine's Day this year!" She smiled brightly to match her sing-song tone. "As you also may know; I, Dorothea Roseanne Arnault, am a deliverer of these valentines."

Ingrid furrowed her brows.

"I have a very, very, very special valentine to deliver for a very special person in this class." Dorothea made a smirk that was audible through her tone.

Of course, many of students look around. Various girls glancing at their significant other and him shaking his head with a guilty expression.

Dorothea pulled a small card from her pant pocket.
"From: Sylvain J. Gautier to...." She glanced up, her smirk forming a full smile across her alabaster tone.

The blonde would roll her eyes, leaning back. She couldn't wait to hear this one.

"Ingrid Galatea."

She froze.

Her seafoam-green eyes widened as she ever-so-slowly looked up. Many of her classmates 'Awhhhh'd or giggled or stared.

The brunette fiddled with her phone for a moment before placing it on the desk in front of her and letting the music play.

Ingrid's face flushed, her ears were exceedingly hot.

"The summer night, the fading light. The perfect place, the perfect time~" She begins, voice soft and sweet as an angel's.

The blonde female stares at the hem of her teal sweater the whole time. Her heart flutters along with the song, pumping her veins with adrenaline. It's a song she knows well. It'd been one of her favorites when she was little but not many knew that. And... Sylvain? Why had he chosen this. He knew it would embarrass her, in fact, that's probably most of the logic behind that. The song was one she had almost forgotten about. Her emerald eyes softened though, allowing her to listen and feel the lyrics as though she owned them.

"I've spent a thousand nights lost in your Emerald Eyes, lost in a place where I know you can see my soul..."

She could feel Sylvain eyeing her though she couldn't see it. It was just something she knew he'd do.

The music continued and so did Dorothea, her voice filling the room with a soft-and-sweetness only she could achieve. It broke every gaurd she had when she thought about the words and what the song meant to her. It was perfect, she thought, but did he really mean anything by it? Or was it just something to make her embarrassed in front of the whole class. Ingrid supposed the latter.

"Make me lose track of time, you and your Emerald Eyes, finally found a place that I can call my home~"

When the song concluded, there were 'Awh's, once again, light laughter, and soft applause.

Ingrid merely stared at her desk, her eyes blinking every so often as she tried to formulate words. There was a light tap on her shoulder and suddenly Dorothea was next to her.

"I hope I didn't scar you too badly, dear." She giggled. "Enjoy your Valentine's Day, Ingie! 'Hope you accept your Valentine.." 'Thea called as she moved to and out of the classroom door, not without shooting a wink at a certain male...

The blonde said nothing for the last remaining 15 minutes of class. She simply flipped through her textbook as she was instructed and penned down their homework assignment. Her legs moved out of habit when class was over, pulling her out of her chair and up to grab her backpack.

Sylvain said nothing but watched her as she pushed her heavy book off the desk into her bag without so much as a glance.

When her bag was strapped on her shoulders, she looked at him. Her piercing green eyes studied him as if he were a suspect in a murder mystery game. She eventually made a light smile as her cheeks flushed a sweet shade of pink. The atmosphere between them was confused, embarrassed, but a little flustered and warm.

Ingrid promptly exited the class, her blonde hair bouncing at her shoulders as she walked. Her heart was fluttery and nervous but, for some reason, she loved it. It was exciting, thrilling, even exhilerating. She had so many questions but couldn't figure out how to put them into actual words. Her whole day was shaken as were her thoughts. She wondered if he really meant anything by it, but also wasn't sure if she hoped he really did. Though, if he did.... well, maybe she'd ask him, maybe she wouldn't.

For now, she supposed, I'll accept my Valentine.
