TW: Just in case.

The sound of the beeps from the monitor at your side seemed to echo throughout the room. A steady tone indicating that things were stable for now. Nothing abnormal. Nothing that was cause for concern. At least for now anyway.

A slew of nurses and doctors checked in as often as they could throughout the night. Constantly checking your vitals, monitoring your heart and your brain activity, making sure you weren't in any uncomfortable positions, adjusting whatever needed to be adjusted. They worked hard. You were one of the top priority patients in the hospital, certainly the most critical at the moment. They knew how important this first night was for you, how the first few hours after your surgery were the most crucial. How your life hung in their hands. They provided the best care possible, not just because it was their job, but because it pained them to see someone as young as you fighting for your life. Especially when you had so much to live for.

It was a tough decision to put you into a medically induced coma but that was your best shot, there were risks sure, but it's what was needed. And Dr. Kwon explained as thoroughly as she could that you would only be in the coma for a few weeks before they pulled you out of it.

A few weeks...they could handle that right? Your mom, Jisoo, Jennie....Rosie???

Still, even after having explained things to your mom, every time Dr. Kwon stepped into the room she looked up at her with eyes full of hope and longing. Wanting to hear something positive. Wanting to hear something good. It left a heavy feeling in the doctor's chest. Never failing to make her feel bad when she knew she had nothing new to say, when nothing about your condition had changed. Even if things remained as static as they were, Dr. Kwon viewed that as a good sign. Mostly because that meant that nothing was going wrong and things weren't worsening. Heading in a good direction even if that also meant that things weren't necessarily getting any better just yet either. For now its more than she could've hope for.

After holding her composure for so long, your mom finally cracked. Despite her always seeming to have everything under control. The moment she took your unconscious hand in hers the tears she worked so hard to hold back finally came crashing down the side of her face. She gripped your hand tightly telling you that you'd be up and back to normal in no time. That she was sorry she wasn't there sooner. Feeling like a terrible mother for always leaving you alone while she travelled around for business. A whirlwind of apologies and guilt flowing out at your bedside.

Normally, she'd never let this side of her get exposed but what did she care, you were her only child, if you were hurt or broken then so was she. It didn't even bother her that Jisoo was watching her breakdown from behind. The other girl simply rubbing her back as she let everything out. Apparently this was their new routine for the time being as Jisoo found herself comforting your mom more then she ever thought she would in her life. Your mom didn't know how she was ever going to repay Jisoo for being her pillar of strength. All she knew was that she was extremely grateful she had her by her side. You definitely knew how to surround yourself with the best people.

As the hours of the night passed by, it felt like time moved slowly with every second seeming to drag on and on.

The moon outside shining bright enough that it was almost impossible to distinguish when exactly night had turned into day and when the moon had shifted into the sun. Before anyone knew the next day had arrived. The harsh rays of light trying desperately to break through the closed curtains of your window.

Almost complete silence filling the room as morning set in. But soon getting interrupted as the shaking of the door knob broke through. The large wooden door swinging open seconds later, followed by a quick shuffle from a new body entering the room. One last click as the door closed behind them.
