Not so long ago, I met a young and beautiful rental girlfriend who went by the name of Chizuru Mizuhara. We met by chance when she came over to Black Lion Vinyls during my shift and search for jazz records. Nice woman overall, really---except there were a few small problems; First, she was a rental girlfriend---which made it practically impossible for her to genuinely fall in love, especially given that her job literally requires her to be with random men until the end of the day. And second, she didn't live in England, and returned back to Japan just so she could go along with her job and clients she'll be with until the sun falls.
Sadly to say, it was impossible for her to be my soulmate. What made it even more humiliating was that I was just fresh off splitting with cosplayer Hailey Reed when I met Chizuru. So I couldn't believe my eyes on what happened right afterwards---when I met this girl named Kyouko Hori during an ordinary morning over here in Black Lion Vinyls. Would you believe that my experiences with her were just as insane as I had with Chizuru, if not even more balls-to-the-wall than I had previously anticipated?
Right around the same time, I was starting to get hooked with one of my favorite bands again---The Smiths. If you hadn't known by now, I was a big fan of their stuff when I was about fifteen, and The Queen Is Dead is one of my favorite albums of all time. (I think I also met Johnny Marr once, by chance during a dinner out in Hyde Park. Seemed to be a pretty cool bloke if I do say so myself.) And so, whenever I spin 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'---and especially that song---I always think back to the time when I was quite close to Hori-san during this time in my life.
Were all these memories being her friend really worth it in the end, even when I made moves I should not have? That, my friend, is one question we'll uncover the answers to over here...
