I wake with a start in the bed of the truck when I hear loud bangs and yelling.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Warren is having a little fun running over Z's." The good sniper dude we picked up answers, laughing a bit.

I look at him and see he's watching all around him, examining the Z's. We make it across the bridge and the Z's disappear.. for now.
"So what's your name?" I finally ask.
He looks back at me and sits down across from me.
"10,000." He replies.
I look at him confused.
"10,000? Can I ask why?"
He looks at me and smirks.
"It's how many zombies I'm going to kill."
"Oh." I pause thinking. "Well do you mind if I call you 10k for short?" I ask laughing a bit considering 10,000 is kind of a mouthful.
He laughs and smirks again.
"Not at all."
"Oh, I'm Lyla by the way." I suddenly say, holding out my hand for him to shake.
"Nice to meet you Lyla." He says shaking my hand with a tight grip.
He's actually kind of cute.

We slow to a stop and Warren gets out of their vehicle saying they've ran out of gas. Well that's just great.
I jump out of the back of the truck to stand with everyone as two motorcycles start coming our way.
"We've got company." Mack says cautiously.
I look back and see Cassandra turn around suspiciously, like she's avoiding them. Warren says something to herself and the bikers keep going on their way. I can't help but feel that Cassandra isn't telling us the whole truth about herself though.

After Warren and Doc took off the tire and killed the Z that was stuck in it, we made our way over to where we could see the city. This is probably the last time we'll ever see it. It's sad really. We say our goodbyes to New York, Murphy saying something sarcastic as usual, and head back to the vehicles to figure out our next move.

We get to an abandoned mall and with hundreds of cars, find no gas. I walk away a bit and examine some cars. I hear Warren and Garnett talking, but I'm not really paying much attention to what they're saying.

I walk over to where Addy is filming a dead Z with her camera and Murphy is looking at her like she's lost her mind.
"What, are you on vacation or something?" Murphy asks sarcastically.
Addy gives him a look.
"Somebody has to keep record. We're probably the last generation of humans on earth." Murphy shakes his head and starts walking away.
"To us it's the apocalypse, to her it's the memories." He says.
"Would it hurt the antibodies if I kicked him in the nuts?" Addy asks Mack as he walks over.
"I say go for it." I tell Addy laughing as I walk away to catch up to Murphy.

"And what do you want, Princess?" He asks as I walk up beside him.
"Just wondering why you're such an ass is all." I say smirking as I look through the window of a car.
"It's a defense mechanism caused by my screwed up childhood." He sarcastically responds, not even bothering to look my way.
"Ah a tragic past, so typical." I reply, laughing a bit.
I see a hint of smile on his face as he continues walking.

I've decided, even though he's an ass, I kind of like Murphy. He's like the crazy, obnoxious uncle you can't help but love. Smiling to myself, I walk over to where Doc and 10k are, who are in the middle of a conversation.
