8:45am. That was the time my alarm clock read.
"Shit." I whispered to myself. I dragged myself out of bed and walked to my closet. I grabbed the closest thing to me and put it on. I brushed my hair and teeth. I then walked downstairs.

"Why are you up so early?" My older sister Lydia asked me

"I'm meeting up with the neighbour today." I said

"Ooo do you think he's cute?" She asked

"Umm, sure." I said "I've only seen him a few times"

"We'll have fun. I'm going to be out all night so please be safe." She said

"Why where are you going?" I asked

"To my friends house. I won't be back until morning, maybe even afternoon." She said

"Okay that's fine." I said

"What time are you meeting the neighbour?" She asked

"He said 10. People get up so early around here." I said

"Maybe people aren't lazy like you." Lydia said

"Very funny." I said sarcastically

"Well I'm leaving at 4pm." She said

"Okay. I'll probably be home later then that." I said

I sat on the sofa and watched TV. It was nearly 10.
I ran upstairs and grabbed a jacket. I then walked downstairs and put my shoes on.

"Be safe when your out." Lydia said

"Yeah I will." I said

"So many kids go missing here in Derry. It's pretty strange."

"I've never really noticed that. I'll be careful." I said

"Okay." She said

There was a knock at the door.

"See ya." I said as I walked out of the door

I was pretty exited to finally meet someone. I needed to make some friends here in Derry. Especially for when I go back to school after summer break.

"Hey." I said as I looked at him

"Hey y/n! I'm Richie, just in case you forgot." He said

"No I remembered." I said "so what do you wanna do today?"

"Well we could go to the arcade." Richie said

"Sure. Just warning you though I'm pretty good at street fighter." I said

"No fucking way! Me too." Richie said

"Well, may the best win." I said as we rode away on our bikes.

We arrived at the arcade. It wasn't that busy, there was just a group of friends and me and Richie in there. The group of friends stared at us when we walked in.

"What the fuck?" I said quietly

"What is it?" Richie asked

"Them kids are staring at us." I said as I pointed at them.

"Oh yeah. It's okay they're my friends." Richie said

"Oh. Let's go and talk to them." I said as I walked over to them.

"Hey guys." I said

They all looked pretty confused.

"Hi" one of them said to me

"I'm Richies neighbour." I said

"Ahh okay, so you must be y/n?" A girl asked

"That's me." I said
