III. IDOL

Hoards of people went by, all seemingly busy with their own thing, while Sooyoung just observed and—for the most part—sat in silence.

First day of work couldn't be more intimidating when you're like a sheep without its herd. That was what she was feeling at the moment without the guidance of a familiar face, that being the job rep, who she had learned was named Sunmi.

Sunmi wasn't present in the sea of staffs, and it was making her uneasy. Is she suppose to just go up and ask? Or just stay seated until someone notices her?

"Ms. Park!"

Her ears had perked up upon hearing her name. She soon faced a distressed Sunmi carrying, what seems to be, a rack of clothes.

"Okay, I'm going to give you a rundown of what's happening."

The woman in front of the younger looked like she was in a rush, making Sooyoung just nod and try to hear her out.

"We're doing a photoshoot for a brand." She checks her time, "The boys arrives here in 10, that's when it'll get really hectic."

Sooyoung just nodded but inquiried, "Am I going to do anything?"

"For now, no. Just observe and we'll try again when it isn't this busy. We already have the concept for this shoot, so you can take this as a demo before the real thing."

She just nodded, and took mental notes as she looked in her surroundings. Sooyoung typed on her phone as an assistant, who was kind enough to guide her, spoke.

"So that's pretty much it."

She smiled at the lady. Then suddenly series of shouts can be heard outside. The assistant, who was helping her, now was questioned by another staff.

"Why is it so loud? I thought we made the shoot private?"

The other staff replied, "A fan found out the location and posted it on social media,"

"We're screwed." She rubbed her temples.

"For now, just escort the boys properly to hair and makeup, then we'll start."

As if on cue, a group of men entered the room. They were bare faced and wore casual clothing.

There are fans outside for them?

Sooyoung was slowly regretting not asking who they were. At a proffesion like this, it should be given you knew who your clients going to be.

She just silently sat down at a vacant chair, while the room was prancing around. The boys were sitting and getting their makeup done, while she just watched the scene unfold before her eyes.

"Hey! You!" Someone pointed at her,

Sooyoung stood up and asked, "Y-yes?"

"You do errands here right?"

"Well, actually—"

Sooyoung got cut off, "Great, anyways. The boys want coffee." She waits for the staff to continue.

"You sure you're not going to write this?" He raised an eyebrow.

Sooyoung made a confused look, it was only a coffee order, how hard can it be?

"There's no time, order one vanilla iced coffee, one ice caramel macchiato, one vanilla late, a white mocha, one matcha latte and iced Americano."

She just nodded, and tried to recite it in her head repeatedly.

"You probably passed by it earlier but there's a cafe just next to this building. Just put the total in this company card, " He handed it to her.

She just nodded, trying to remember the drinks in her mind as she slowly makes her way out the door.

"Wait!" Someone shouted and she turned back her heels to the sound, it was the staff earlier.

"I almost forgot, but also order a vanilla bean frappuccino." She once again nodded at the instruction and finally made her exit.

Outside though, is a different story. A fairly big number of people were waiting and while Sooyoung was insecure about how she looked, there were a couple phone cameras phone pointed at her.

They soon let it down when they realized she was only a staff. Sooyoung felt relieved and made the trip to the cafe.

She tried her best to order and get the drinks as accurate as possible. But one thing was off, she thought it was probably just her and proceeded to the studio, with an arm occupied by drinks.

"Finally." The one who instructed her said as he swiftly took the drinks from her while she also gave back the company card.

She followed him to the set and saw everything fully set up. Two boys were modeling in the backdrop, and she just stared in awe.

To be acting so cool and charismatic in front of a camera while there's people watching you must be hard, for her atleast.

She also noted how close the two said models were, seeing as they were being goofy and laughing a lot after their turn was done.

She didn't stay looking at them for long and instead talked with Sunmi for a while. She finally asked questions while the older woman laughed at her.

"You're only asking this now?"

Sooyoung smiled sheepishly while replying, "Better late than never, I guess?"

"To answer your question. They're idols, but don't you know them by their face?"

She thought for a second, "I find some faces familiar, I think it was from a tv show or an ad. But I'm not that acquainted with the group though."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously? Yes? I'm not really the type of person that gets really invested in celebrities," Or people in general.

The two talked and Sooyoung learned their names, the names she should've known before even considering this job offer.

It wasn't that Sooyoung had strict parents growing up, it was just that she had better things to do than fantasize about idols unlike the vast majority of the population, that seemed to have all the free time in the world.

Her and Sunmi talked, it was mostly small talk but both of them held the conversation well and their help wasn't needed at the moment anyways.

Sooyoung later on excused herself to the powder room, she didn't know exactly where it was but with a few asking and directions, she managed.

Making her way out of the restroom, her eyes saw the assistant handing out the coffee that she ordered to the boys. She walked across them and avoided eye contact.

"Who messed up my coffee order?"
