I look back over my shoulder to see many of the guests standing from their seats, chattering amongst themselves in utter bewilderment. My parents jump up and run after us as soon as they shake of their own shock. I hold the hand that's intertwined tightly with mine and pick up the pace. My wedding dress slowing me down a little from it's weight. It's designs sparkle and shimmer under the warm sunny weather. The beautiful diamond necklace and earrings I am wearing are immediately cast onto the ground, along with the shimmery, silver heels I am wearing. I reach up with one hand and pull all the pins out of my hair, letting it flap freely in the fresh, summer breeze. I take a moment to look to my side, and time seemingly stops as I look into the eyes of the love of my life. His hand feels warm against my own, his fingers tightly intertwined with mine. His eyes sparkle as they softly gaze into my own dark brown orbs. His pink, heart shaped lips form into a smile of reassurance. He too is dressed in fancy wedding attire, a black tuxedo accents his figure quite nicely. The red rose pinned to the left side of his chest is dangling loosely, having been jostled out of place from the fast pace we were moving at.
By now my parents and a few of the other guests are hot on our trail, but I didn't care. I refuse to continue with the ceremony. This is not a wedding I am willing to be a part of anymore. As we approach his car, he quickly let's go of my hand and I immediately miss his touch, but the pounding of my heart and the adrenaline rushing through my veins quickly diverts my attention from the lack of warmth. We quickly get in his car, my wedding dress slowing us down some from its size, but we manage to stuff it in hurriedly. He then runs to his side of the car and puts the key into the ignition to start the vehicle. I look up through the windshield and notice the people fast approaching us, and I panic for a split second."Hurry!"
I remind him, and he gives me a short nod before turning the key and starting the car. The engine roars to life and he is quick to speed out of the parking lot just as my parents and some guests catch up to us. Once we are on the main road and the wedding ceremony is out of sight, a huge sigh of relief escapes my lips and I close my eyes.
Now one might be wondering, 'Why would she run away from her own wedding?'
Well....
That's quite a story..
