It was the first day of school and it had been an amazing day. I had made a bunch of new friends and all my teachers were kind and not as strict as some of the ones I had heard about. It had also been quite interesting; I had found some tall seniors covered in black cloaks but I imagined it was just some weird cult with depressed seniors.

It was the end of the day and I went to my locker after english class; I was exhausted. My teachers were extra generous with homework and I couldn't wait to finish it and be done. I wanted to stay organized this year as my parents wanted me to follow their footsteps and become a doctor. I think I'll become a pediatrician as I wouldn't have to deal with the organs in one's body. Or the blood.

Anyway, as I reached my locker I found a Post-It. The orange sticky note had a message, "Come to 1157 Commerce Ave. We have prepared a surprise for you. Come alone and don't tell anyone. -S.A." I supposed the S.A. were my best friend's initials, Sophia D'Achelle. Commerce Avenue was just two blocks away from school so I packed up my things and began walking. I was looking forward to what Sophie had planned because if the adults couldn't know, it must have been exciting.

1157 Commerce Ave. turned out to be a warehouse, An abandoned warehouse by the looks of it. Mind you, it seemed a little haunted with the boarded window panes and the forest surrounding the big warehouse. The paint on the outside looked as if it had been peeling off for years. I walked through the dusty, wooden doors and immediately smelled something wretched although I couldn't quite make out what it was. Suddenly, the doors shut closed behind me with an echoing 'BANG'. "If your surprise is to scare me off, it won't work. Now, come out and tell me why you really called me here Sophia.", I shouted out. When I turned around again, I felt a black cloth around my eyes and a damp, chemical-smelling cloth around my mouth right when I was about to scream out of fear. I briefly felt something rough around my wrists when I fell unconscious and I hit the cold, stone floor.

When I woke up again, I was on a rickety chair with my hands tied behind my back and a gag in my mouth. There they were: the seniors with creepy black cloaks. It seemed that those shady figures at the high school had pretended to be students in order to send me the note. "Ah, she's finally awake", one of them said. He looked to be the leader of the group; the other two were standing beside me as if following his orders. "What do you want? Why did you lure me here?", I asked, frightened to death by thinking about what would happen to me if they didn't get what they wanted.

"Well, for your father's fortune of course. Harold has just gone to send a letter to your father for the ransom money. You see, we had some unfinished business with your father a couple of years ago. I'm just taking back what was mine, to begin with.", he explained in a slightly raspy voice as though he didn't talk much unless necessary. 2 hours later, I dozed off and saw the strangest thing ever.
