Osamu and Suna had been dating since high school started, going 2 years strong. But what the Inarizaki High School Volleyball team didn't know, was that their favorite setter was head over heels for Suna. Atsumu hated himself that he was so in love with his brother's boyfriend of all people. But he couldn't help it, he loved how nonchalant and laid back he was, he loved the little hand thing he did during their games, he loved his sharp, dangerous eyes, he loved his fluffy hair, he loved everything. But he couldn't have this boy and he knew that, he often found himself swallowing his overwhelming feelings for the boy and pretending they never existed.

However, Atsumu's desperate attempts to lose his feelings for the boy were in vain, as Suna often flirted with him as a tease or leaned against him to sleep or just relax. Every time, he found himself falling for him even more. He remembered the time he held hands with him on the bus after a game as they slept since Osamu was sitting with Kita to discuss things. He would probably never forget that moment, he cherished it truthfully. Alas, he knew he should stop thinking about those things, so he called his best friend; Sakusa. Atsumu knew he could always turn to Sakusa if he needed comfort. But what he didn't know was that Sakusa was deeply in love with the blonde, however, he wouldn't confess because he knew the fake blonde's heart belonged to someone else... and that someone else was dating his brother.

Atsumu set the ball perfectly across the court to Suna, who bent his torso to spike the ball around the blockers. The two cheered as they heard the ball slam against the floor, that being the winning point of the game. The foxes all grabbed their water bottles and towels, being exhausted after their practice game.

When no one was watching, Atsumu had slipped away to the bathroom when he began to feel extremely sick to his stomach. He leaned over the toilet and began to cough violently, a single white petal falling into the water. Atsumu raised an eyebrow when he saw this.

'A flower petal? What the hell?'

Atsumu quickly whipped out his phone and searched what it meant to cough up flower petals. His face fell as he read the first article he found.

"I guess I have hanahaki..."

Two weeks went by as Atsumu struggled with his disease, finding creative ways to slip away whenever he needed to cough the petals up. He was in a lot of pain and was slowly starting to make mistakes during volleyball as well as in making sure he didn't get caught.

Midway during practice one morning, Kita heard coughing coming from the bathroom and walked in to see who it was. His eyes widened when he saw the fake blonde lying on the floor, surrounded by flowers with blood running down his mouth and shirt.

"O-Oh god.. Atsumu, what happened to you?"

Atsumu's head shot up upon hearing the familiar voice.

"K-Kita~san?..."

Kita helped him sit up before demanding an explanation, to which the blonde complied.

"Atsumu, I need you to tell me who it is..."

Atsumu hesitated before letting out an exasperated sigh.

"Suna."

Silence.

Kita couldn't believe it. Suna? He was in love with his brother's boyfriend?... Kita turned back to the blonde, who now had his knees up to his chest in a desperate attempt to hide his tear-stained face as he silently sobbed. Kita held the boy in his arms, trying desperately to comfort him.

"Atsu...you need to take the surgery...I know it's hard but I don't want you to di-"

"No!"

Atsumu cut him off.
