Canterbury, England
After the attack by the NIghtmares, the Guardians were devastated but no one was as much as Bunny. All his eggs were stampeded on, not one surviving and all before they could even reach their destination.
Despite the tries of his fellow Guardians, the nightmares were too much and they ended up losing. Now, he had rushed to a small town in England and he came face to face with sad, disappointed children.
They were happy moments ago, happy to search for his hidden easter eggs but now that they could not find them; they lost hope.
"There aren't any eggs..."
"There's nothing here"
"I give up, come on"
"Let's go. "
"He didn't come. I don't understand"
The kids walked with their heads down, holding empty baskets and Bunny felt his own heartbreaking at the sight. He had a basket, with quickly painted eggs that he had managed. He did not want to believe it was too late.
"Maybe he just hid them really well this year," a girl said, trying hard not to give up hope.
"Kids, wait—" Bunny said as he ran between the last two kids with a basket of his own.
"I checked everywhere. There's nothing" the boy said.
"-- Yes there is! There is! I mean these aren't my best-lookin' googies, but they'll do in a pinch!" The spirit said as he held them out to the two kids.
The girl looked down, not noticing him. "I can't believe it—"
"I- I know" he chuckled ruefully.
"--There's no such thing as the Easter Bunny"
"What? No!"
"Easter's over—"
"Wrong! Not- not true! I'm- I'm right in front of ya', mate!"
However, the boy passed right through him, causing him to gasp in despair. Mikoto watched, mouth open as her fox ears fell back. She was in her human form, standing along with the guardians but she could not find the strength to approach.
She had just made peace with him but she did not know what to do. It didn't help when he crumpled over and started to cry softly. Suddenly, she picked up a familiar scent and she looked up, only to see Jack flying towards them before landing.
"Jack! Where were you? The Nightmares attacked the tunnels, they smashed every egg, crushed every basket - nothing made it to the surface!" North said as he approached with Mikoto hot on his train.
Tooth flew over to them, only to gasp once she noticed the Tooth Box. "Where did you get that?"
The spirit was shocked. "I was- It's, uh—"
"Jack. Where's Baby Tooth?" the Kitsune asked, not failing to notice the little spirit missing.
Tooth, suddenly, gasped and she looked horrified as she started to understand what had taken place." Oh Jack, what have you done?"
"That is why you weren't here? You were with Pitch?" North asked.
"Jack. Is this true?" his friend asked, taking another step as she felt her heart aching at the idea that he had gone to meet Pitch.
He lifted his hands up in the air, not bearing to see Mikoto like that. "No, listen! Listen! *He sighs* I'm sorry! I didn't mean for this to happen!"
