"Y/n, slow down. You're going to fall if you go any faster."
"Don't worry, Akaashi. I'll be fine!" Y/n shouted. She picked up her pace on the swings and then they moved at an alarming rate. Fear flashed through Y/n's eyes as she lost control and ended up flying through the air. She hit the ground with a loud thud. Tears swelled up in her eyes as she looked down at the large bruise on her knee that had formed from the impact.
Footsteps were heard from behind her as she attempted to stand up. Unfortunately, she ended up falling backwards but, luckily, Akaashi caught her this time.
"Y/n, I told you what would happen if you went too fast." said Akaashi.
"I'm sorry! I just wanted to see if I could reach the sky. Dad said Mom was up there and I thought if I could go high enough I'll be able to meet her."
Akaashi sighed and steadied Y/n. He slid his arm around her waist, put her arm on his shoulder and secured it. He managed to carry both of them back to Y/n's house.
"Let's get you cleaned up, we can play more together afterwards."
"Okay." said Y/n.
An owl haired boy popped his head through the living room window. He smiled at them before realising what position they were in. He ran out of the living room and went to where they were.
"Akaashi! What happened to Y/n? Is she okay? Y/n, does it hurt?" Bokuto had started to bombard both of them with questions. He knelt down in front of Y/n's knee and poked it.
Y/n hissed at his touch. A few tears had escaped from her eyes at the immense pain she felt. Bokuto noticed what he had done and apologized profusely.
"Y/n, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry, please forgive me. It was an accident. Please, don't be mad at me. I'm sorry." Bokuto had burst out into tears in the middle of his apology.
"Bokuto, it's not your fault." Akaashi reassured him.
"But it is! I made her cry and now she's going to hate me." he whined.
Y/n had decided to get involved in the conversation,"I don't hate you, Bo. I don't think I'll ever be able to."
"Really?" Bokuto said whilst wiping the tears away from his eyes.
"Really."
Your POV
Is that really him? It has to be. I mean, they have the same eye color and the same hairstyle. His face has gotten a lot more mature than before. He looks amazing. I can't believe I'm breathing the same air as him. Someone, please, cut off my air supply.
Does he still remember me? It's been, like, ten years since we last saw each other. Is he still close with Bokuto? Does Bokuto attend this school as well? How have they been since I left?
I have so many questions.
I didn't even get to say bye to them before leaving. I wonder how they handled that. Actually, do they even care? I would understand if they didn't care because , you know, it's me.
"L/n, did you hear anything that I just said?"
Oh shit. I spaced out during that. It's not like it's anything important, right?
"N-no. I might have not been paying attention?"
The teacher literally looks so done with me. I think I'm about to die.
"I said, we have a history project to do that will be due next week. You will have to work in pairs. I have already decided the partners. I called you and your partner's name and told you to go to their desk. Why aren't you at their desk, yet?"
Are you kidding me? We have to work in pairs? I hate working with people I don't know that well. It's going to be so awkward and why do I have to do a project on my first day of school when I don't even know what everyone is learning.
"I don't know who my partner is." I said honestly.
"You are sitting right next to him. Mr Akaashi, could please go to Miss L/n's desk as it seems she is incapable of going to yours?" I am literally going to die from embarrassment.
Akaashi nodded his head and moved his chair towards my desk. He sat directly in front of me as if we were on a date. But, of course, we're not. Who would have a date in school?
He's looking at me. What should I do? I can't look him in the eye. I don't have the confidence to maintain eye contact with someone.
I looked around the room and noticed most of the girls were glaring at me and jealousy was practically oozing off of them. Is he that popular? They would probably kill to be in my seat. I mean it wasn't my choice to pair up with him. If they were planning to kill someone, it might as well be the teacher.
I looked back towards Akaashi and gathered up the courage to speak first.
"So, what are we supposed to do?"
