***Nathan's P.O.V.***
"Nathan?" I sighed at the voice. "Why are you up so late?" I hesitantly turned on my heels. She stretched and yawned.
"I see you've had a rough day today, huh?" I hid the bag I was holding behind my back. "I see that because I hardly ever see you without your short tucked in and your hair looking like a grizzly bear's back."
She raked her hair back into a ponytail and tucked in her shirt. She cleared her throat before talking. "My hair isn't near the color of a bear's."
"Josie," I tried to straighten my posture, trying to look like a businessman. "I'm a reasonable man and what I say goes. Yes, your beauty marks high on the charts. And yes, you're very intelligent, in contrast to me. But I'm pretty sure you have your sloppy side." I pretended to push up a pair of glasses.
"Oh my gosh," Josie giggled. "And there's no need to tell me I look good. Ronn tells me all the time. He even left a letter at my doorstep."
"Well, um..." This was beginning to get extremely awkward. "So how was your day?"
"Well," she fixed her oddly turned skirt. "The passengers were as greedy as ever. They complained about the service. I was as patient as possible but then..." She started to pace back and forth while pulling your hair.
"What happened?" She snapped her attention on me. "What?"
"Why am I telling you this?" She plopped down on the chair.
"Because you love me." I smiled.
"Anyways..." She laughed while rolling her eyes. "I sort of, kind of slapped someone." I looked at her in disbelief and then started laughing. "And how exactly that funny?"
"W-why did you slap someone?"
I saw her eye twitching. "Because...they refused to take care of their child and everyone on the plane told her to take control him.
"I was already fed up with her and I was just so tired. My job's at stake here!" She shook my shoulders, causing me to drop my bag. "What's this?" She unzipped my bag and pulled something out of it.
"Stop!" I snatched the item out of her hand and I felt my eyes sting. "I'm sorry, but please don't touch this." I stared at the frosty blue jewel. It seemed to have its own type of shine.
"Sorry," she said. "I didn't know it was so important to you. Who gave it to you?" I stared at her before answering.
"That's what I want to know." I wrapped the necklace around my neck. "And that's why I'm leaving to go find out." I grabbed my bag and started for the front of the door.
"Wait!" Josie grabbed onto my shirt. "Don't go yet." She squeezed me in a hug.
I was going to miss her but hugging her and crying would just make it worse. I felt her hiccups against my shoulder. Her tears slid down my shirt and I quivered. This is what I was going to miss.
"You're actually leaving?" I knew the other three guys were here but I didn't turn around.
I pushed away from Josie, grabbed my bag, and dropped a note on the ground before heading out the door.
