Kiyo woke up to an obnoxious banging on her door, her uncle practically screaming her name in a sing-song voice. It was only her second day waking up here, but something about waking up like this felt so familiar. She groaned and sat up in bed, her long silver hair knotty and sticking out in every direction.
Without warning her door swung open, Gojo's signature grin plastered across his face.
"Good morning!"
Kiyo managed a small hum in response — has this guy never heard of privacy? She turned and looked out the window on the far side of the room — it was still dusky out, seeming like the sun had just barely started to rise.
"What time is it?" She grumbled, half-yawning as she spoke.
"Time to train!" The man cheered, "We're leaving in twenty minutes so you should probably hurry!"
Twenty minutes? Kiyo let out a small groan, nodding her head and rolling out of bed. Gojo left after enthusiastically shouting a bit more, and she made sure to lock the door behind him. The man seemed to have a habit of swinging doors open with absolutely no warning.
She grabbed some of the new clothes he had gotten her — just something plain and comfortable that would be good to train in. After pulling her hair into a loose ponytail, brushing her teeth, and splashing herself in the face with some cold water, she made her way out into the living room. The trio of students were already there, Nobara and Yuuji half asleep and leaning on Megumi's shoulders. He sat rigidly between them, but there was a softness to his face — he definitely loved his friends more than he liked to let on.
The five of them piled into Gojo's car, the oldest male sliding into the driver's seat and immediately turning on some spunky pop music. The drive was mostly silent — everyone much too tired to maintain a conversation with any substance.
They drove for about an hour, ending up somewhere surrounded by trees and miles of mountains. Gojo was taking this whole idea of keeping Kiyo hidden incredibly seriously.
They exited the car, mouths gaping at the rolling hills covered in an assortment of trees and wildflowers — training here would certainly beat the roof of Kiyo's old apartment. Another car pulled up just a few minutes later, a blonde man wearing a tidy business suit graceful exiting the driver's side door. The silver-haired girl's heart got caught in her throat at the sight of him, and her mind was washed over with memories from a few months ago. He was the sorcerer that had come to fight them, and who had narrowly escaped with everything but his recent memory. This must be Nanami.
He gave Kiyo a lopsided look when he approached, his face filled with questions.
"Who's this?" He spoke plainly, his voice flat but hinted with intrigue.
"Sayori's daughter," Gojo responded, the name of his dead sister cold on his lips.
Kiyo winced at the name of her mother — it was a name she hadn't heard in what felt like a lifetime.
