It was 6:30 in the evening, and you were waiting for your boyfriend to come pick you up for your first Valentine's as a couple. Frankly, you were a little bit disappointed because he couldn't free his schedule for the entire day, but your boyfriend was an extremely busy person. Between the press conferences, movie shootings, modeling, and fan conventions the fact that he had time for you was something you were extremely thankful for.

The clock was ticking, but you weren't hearing any footsteps nor the doorbell, which made you anxious because your boyfriend was usually never late to your dates. You tried to recall the conversation you had with your boyfriend earlier in the morning.

"I am so sorry I can't spend the whole day with you, baby," your boyfriend said over the phone, and you could imagine him frowning.

"Don't worry about it. It's not like I took the day off for our first Valentine's," you joked.

"I'm so sorry," he apologized again, and you could still see his pouting face. "I'll make it up to you tonight."

You smiled. "That was a joke, don't worry about me. Just don't overwork yourself too much, okay?"

"I won't. I'll come pick you up at 6:30 in the evening, alright?" he said, which made your stomach tingle.

"What possibly could you have in store for me?"

"That's a secret," he replied, and you heard him chuckle.

"Chris, they're ready for you," you heard a man in the background.

"Sorry baby, I gotta go. I love you so much," he said

"I love you too, be safe," you reciprocated his affection, and he ended the call.

You were right. You weren't just imagining things. Chris did say he was going to come pick you up at 6:30 so why wasn't he here yet? You impatiently checked your phone and noticed that five minutes had already passed. You debated on trying to call your boyfriend in case something had gone wrong. You finally decided and unlocked your phone, trying to call Chris, but before you could dial his number, you received a text message.

It was from Chris.

Chris <3

: Hey baby, shooting is delayed... I don't think I can make it for our date today. I'm so sorry :((

: I tried to get my way out but they were very set on getting this over with.

: I'm sending you dinner though from your favorite restaurant along with some roses. Please don't be mad at me I love you.

Disappointment rushed over you, and then panic followed. Was he growing tired of you? Did you do something wrong to upset Chris? Your brain was running all over the place, and you were breathing heavily. This was not how your first Valentine's was supposed to go. It most certainly was not the way you imagined it to be. But what could you do? You were just an ordinary girl that lucked out extremely well, and Chris was a superstar.

You sighed as tears filled your eyes. No, this was not something to cry about. Maybe Chris really was just busy because even if he grew tired of you, there was no way that he'd go as far as lying just to get away from you. You headed back to your room to change into something comfortable so you could spend the rest of your Valentine's watching some stupid rom-com movie while eating a tub of ice cream.

As you began to undo the lace on your dress, the doorbell rang. You skeptically left your bedroom, assuming that it was the dinner that Chris said he was sending for you.
