Miles POV"You okay?" Rhylee spoke to me with concern.
"Yes! I everything is fine, just can't wait to show you my favorite restaurant." I said quickly.
"She's smart Miles, I would keep the lies to a minimum here." Apollo said pulling me from my thoughts.
"Ready to go?" I added.
"Whenever you are handsome." She replied with a raised eyebrow.
The car ride was quiet, I believe she knew I wasn't being honest with her while I picked her up. So I decided to tell the truth or at least some of it.
"Hey, I'm sorry I blanked out on the steps earlier. I got lost in thought about your necklace. I swear I seen that symbol before but I can't place it." I explained.
"Oh, really? This old thing? It was given to me at birth, it was found in my swaddle when my aunt found me."
"Found you? I don't follow." I questioned.
"Yeah, long story short my parents abandoned me in an old church as an infant. Aunt Dawn found me and took me in. Raised me as her own." She said while holding the necklace close to her chest.
"If she raised you, why don't you call her mom, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Well, my Aunt Dawn has been nothing but honest with me and told me that she wasn't my mom from the beginning. Although she loves me as a mother would, she chose to tell me the truth and thats something that she distilled in me, always be honest. So instead of calling her Dawn, I call her my aunt. She's the only family I have." She replied staring out the window.
"She could be a wolf if rouges left her behind." Apollo spoke.
"I'm here, if you ever need anything." I said softly to her as I grabbed her hand in mine and traced circles around palm.
She looked up to me and gave me the most beautiful smile I have ever seen.
I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and our gazes meet.
"You got something on your jacket collar." Rhylee said cocking her head to the side in confusion.
"What really, I just cleaned it." I replied, releasing her hand from mine to search for what she saw.
As I look over my collar I found nothing and I look to her and all I see is a playful stare.
"You little lier, I thought you were an honest women." I said questionably.
"No, I'm serious. Its right here." She said as she unbuckles her seat belt.
She leans over the center council and gently reaches over and tugs on my left collar of my jacket. Right as I was about to look at her hand placement, she pulls me close to her.
