I lightly knocked on the big metal door that led into Maebel's room and heard a small 'come in' from the other side. I pulled the door to the side and waddled in the room awkwardly. I notice Maebel tense upon seeing me, but she smiled anyways.

"Hey, Henry," she sat on her bed, "What's up?"

I smiled back and moved further into the room, closing the door behind me, "Can I talk to you?" I ask, scratching the back of my head.

She nodded and turned her phone off.

"Listen," I moved closer to her, "We've had a rough couple of days and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for everything,"

Her face fell and she furrowed her eyebrows.

I sat next to her on her bed and grabbed her hand, "I wanna make it all up to you,"

She glanced down at our entwined hands with a sigh, "Henry-"

"Will you go on a date with me, Maebel?" I stared into her eyes.

"But what about-"

"I asked Ray for permission and he said yes," 

She paused, deep in thought, before looking back up and smiling, "Yes, Henry, I'll go on a date with you,"

I beamed, "Great, meet me at Sotto Voce around seven?"

She nodded.

I kissed her cheek and walked out of the room, leaning against the wall and smiling to myself, "Yeah, that happened,"

Henry grunted, "Man, how come we have to organize the stupid storage room?" He said carrying a device in from the secret room, "Shouldn't Ray be doing this?" He glanced at Charlotte.

"I don't know," Charlotte shrugged, "Just tell me what that is so I can write it down,"

"It's a big heavy thing with things on it," Henry gestured to the yellow tube.

"Great," Charlotte said sarcastically, "Another big thing that's a thing with things on it,"

Henry started looking around the room, "So, I need to tell you something,"

Charlotte's eyebrows furrowed, "Yeah?"

"I'm taking Maebel on a date to Sotto Voce," Henry turned to face his friend.

Charlotte's face lit up, "Really?"

Henry nodded, chuckling at her reaction, "Yeah, I'm meeting her there at seven. And, I asked Ray for permission and he said yes,"

Charlotte paused and gave a skeptical look, "Are you sure?"

Henry nodded, "Yeah, why?"
