Draco's pov
After two weeks had passed i remember that Hazel was coming tomorrow, I decided that I'd give her the ring in person when she gets here. Ever since the letter i always see the trio looking at me weirdly. Probably wondering if I've heard from her yet. And guess what i did, she said when she comes to hogwarts she'll be sharing a dorm with granger since weasleys sister is going home unlike him who's staying here. She said she basically had no choice since she moved schools the dorm we used to share is no longer hers. She also invited me to her house for Christmas even though i doubt anyone would want me there. I did accept the invitation since i had nothing better to do. We were only staying at hogwarts for half of the break then we'd go over to her house.

Blaise on the other hand is going to be hanging out with phoenix for Christmas he said that she wont tell him where they are going because its a 'surprise'. Phoenix is a ok girl she said she moved to hogwarts from beauxbatons which was the same school potter went to. I wonder if they knew each other probably not although she knows me very well almost to well its creepy. I just suppose she's heard about me from other people around the school.

I was going to meet up with them but i had a assignment to do. I was on my bed books all around me in a circle when i heard a knocking noise. I got up to see who it was and when I did open the door I regretted it instantly. It was Astoria all smiley, with out any warning she came into my room and started asking all sorts of questions. I couldn't believe how fake she was i still didn't get a chance to break up with her so I figure i might as well do it now.
"Draco what are you doing?", she questions, "i was waiting for you by the astronomy tower and you didn't show up"
"Look Astoria about that-"
"Hey what's this?", she says picking up a green velvet box which was hazel's present
"Don't touch that"
"What why not is it a surprise for me"
"No its-"
"Awww dray you bought me a ring"
"Ok first of all don't call me dray"
"Whatever", she says about to put the ring on
"ASTORIA PUT THAT DOWN", i say walking towards her, "i told you it's not for you"
She scoffs and says ,"well who's is it then?"
"Its a present for hazel now give it back"
"Wait your cheating on me with that slut"
"I'm not cheating on you if we aren't together anymore", i say grabbing the ring and box from her
"I knew it you hate me i knew it when i saw her leaving your dorm"
"For gods sake we shared a dorm and how am i cheating when your in the library snogging a different guy every single day"
"Ugh fine then if i cant have the ring then neither can she"
She grabs the ring and starts running out my dorm. I chase after her demanding she gives it back but she carry's on not looking back. She finally stops running when she reaches the black lake.

"Astoria don't you dare"
"If i cant have this no one can", she hissed
She was about to throw it but i grab her hand trying to prevent her from doing so. She takes her other hand and grabs the ring as she throws it into the water.
"NO", I shout as i jump in after it not thinking straight.

I swim around for five minutes since i had nothing to help me breathe under water. I come back up from the water and see granger i notice she has a wand and hope she might let me use it. As i was about to call out for her i feel something grabbing my left yanking me under water once again.

Hermione's pov
I was just walking around taking a stroll near the black lake and then i hear a splash sound in the water. Ginny had came with me so i told her I'd be right back.
"Gin ill be right back"
"Ok"
I go forward to take a step closer and see something shining it was a ring and a green velvet box floating. I bring them both up to take a closer look.
"Wingardium leviosa", i say using the spell to bring both objects near me.
I reach out my hand and drop the objects into it. I notice that it was a silver serpentine ring with emeralds i also take a look at the green velvet box. I remember seeing it at hogsmeade then it hits me malfoy had this green box and this ring must have been inside it. But what was it doing here? I decided to give it back to him, as i was walking back towards Ginny i notice a hand shoot up from the water. Someone was in there.
"GINNY"
"Yea what's up mione what did you find"
"Never mind that I think there's a student in the water look"
"Your right we need to help them"
"Yea ok I'm ready when you are"
"What do you mean"
"Ginny the only way to save them is by going in there our selves"
"Uhh ok we can use some gillyweed i have some left over in my pocket from when Neville was showing it me"
"Ok yea we'll use that but we need to be quick"
Me and Ginny jump down noticing how our hand were webbed. We go towards where i saw the hand come up we went forward and finally see someone there. It was malfoy and he was unconscious.
