CHAPTER SEVEN.
Aoi sat in her office chair on Monday morning. She stared at her computer screen with her thoughts floating elsewhere. It wasn't the kind of feeling she had a few weeks before where she was confused and ashamed of herself. It was a different kind of feeling. She had an idea what it may be but she's trying so hard to fight it. She decided she was hungry, she have yet to eat breakfast. She thought maybe eating will keep her mind of it. She took out a small bento box from her bag and her tumbler, and walked towards the lounge. Before she entered the room, she peeked inside, silently hoping for that specific someone to be there, like the past few weeks before where they'd bump almost everywhere everyday. She pouted when she saw he wasn't there. Damn, why was she thinking about him again? She walked and filled her tumbler with water then proceeded to sit down and placed her bento box and drink on the table. Why would she even keep on longing for him? She's able to see him anytime. All she needs is to do is just text or call him and they'd do the casual things they'd been doing together for the past few weeks. She knew that but somehow, she wanted differently now, she didn't want to just meet up with him because of their casual sex sessions. She wanted more. She shook her head awake. Did she really just feel this way because of donuts? Am I really that easily swooned because of donuts? She really is an easy person. No, that's not the case. It's just stress from work. Yeah, that's it. She can't feel this way. She had to fight it. They can't be involved this way. It just doesn't make sense, they are such an imperfect pair. She started to open her bento box and there, staring right at her face, is the square strawberry glazed donut. She smiled and right then and there, she knew her feelings are true, and she's ready to accept it.
Hiro sat in his sofa. It was the weekend again and he felt like he could finally stretch away the stress he dealt with from work during the week. He heard rubble and peeked outside his window. It was raining, a perfect day to just lounge around. He sat back on his sofa again and tilted his head back. He suddenly remembered some of the moments he'd spend with Aoi on this sofa. He smiled. It may look like a very casual thing that's been going on between them but he decided that, aside from the sex, Aoi has really been a good company to be around. He closed his eyes and he can almost smell her. He opened his eyes quickly, did he just miss her? Speaking of which, Aoi hasn't really been texting as much as she used to for the past week. He understood considering it's been a hectic week at work and they needed to focus. But still, somehow, he longed for her. He needs to keep his mind off her, for his own good. He started to turn on his television when suddenly he heard a knock on his door. He looked at it confused, he didn't order anything, and it was raining, who would be here visiting him. He decided it wasn't Aoi either since she always texts to let him know if she's coming over or not. He turned the television off and walked towards the door. When the door opened, he was surprised. There stood Aoi, and she looked drenched in the rain. Her hair was loose and dripping rainwater, her red varsity jacket also dripping. "Hey.." she greeted. Hiro blinked before inviting her inside. Aoi stepped inside and Hiro closed the door. "Hina, I didn't know you were coming, you never texted" he said. He looked at her and it seems like all of her clothes got wet in the rain. "Yeah, I'm sorry, I was on my way here when the rain suddenly fell, I was not able to bring an umbrella" she said hugging herself. "Here let me take your jacket, let's hang it to dry" Hiro said as he started to grab her. "No, I'll take it off myself" Aoi spoke as if shielding herself from him. Hiro was startled but just nodded his head. He walked towards his cabinet and took out a clean towel. "Here's a towel, you need to dry off or you'll get sick" he said handing her the towel which Aoi slowly received. Aoi could see the concerned look on his face, which just made her blush even more. "Um, Hiro.." she spoke. Hiro just stood there "yeah?"Aoi bowed her head "Today.. I, can we do it differently?" she asked. Hiro drew a confused look on his face but didn't say anything. Aoi could feel her cheeks getting red "You know, like, how lovers do it.." she said biting her thumb. She had rehearsed in her mind how she was going to tell him this and somehow, it didn't sound like how she imagined it in her mind. Every time they did have sex, it was always rushed, as if they were hungry loin cubs ready to devour each other. It had always been crazy and fast, so they could quickly get it over with. It was emotionless and they never even allowed themselves to cuddle after it. Just like what casual sex really is."L-lovers..?" Hiro asked his voice soft. Aoi nodded not saying a word. She was ready for him to say no, tell her she's crazy and just ask her to leave but to her surprise, Hiro nodded his head "Okay.." Aoi's eyes widened. She painted a small smile and turned around from him. She walked towards the dining chairs to take off her jacket and hang it there to dry.
