She didn't just call in love with the drugs;

She fell in love with escaping reality - the ability to suppress all of the pain and sorrow was automatically too addictive for the girl.

They warned her, but she didn't care.

Therefore she continued to snort lines of cocaine and smoke multiple times a day. She didn't listen to anyone - she didn't listen when they told her she was going down the wrong path or when they said she was ruining her future.

They were right of course, but she didn't care.

Sophomore year you'd find her at parties, doing lines in the bathroom, or smoking in the stoner den. She'd occasionally throw shots back when in the mood.

Other times she'd be flirting with drug dealers for another hit or fighting with her mom.

The first time Roman had seen Zadie at a highschool party their sophomore year, he couldn't help but get upset. She had a very outgoing personality when they were kids. After their friendship had torn, she became more antisocial and lonely. She seemed to shut down inside. He had never expected to see her at a party.

When Zadie was younger she had long, raven hair, and the wildest blue eyes Roman Silas had ever seen. She was gifted with the type of eyes that can be intimating yet soft at the same time.

She was an unpredictable and wild child when they were younger. She would always find herself in trouble.

She had a smile that would light up her whole face. It was beautiful.

Over years, he has tried to escape the memories of the girl he once knew- he forced her into the deepest, darkest part of his thoughts, but in moments of weakness they creep themselves back in.

He was completely and utterly in love with her, without a doubt.

Keyword; was.

To him, she's just another stranger - somebody that he used to know. He now torments her by bashing her insecurities and destroying her emotionally until she's nothing but the shell of the girl she was.

He convinces himself it was just a crush, it was just a 12-year-old, middle school crush. There is no such thing as heartbreak when your twelve, right?

Roman's father wasn't always the mayor of the town. He ran in the election of 2016 and won. His family had always been wealthy, even when his mother was alive. His mother was a well-known surgeon which brought in lots of income for the family. His father was a politician of some sort.
