In My Head

What felt like minutes, turned into hours.
The sun was peaking over the horizon and shining light through my bedroom window

Gypsy's skin was glossed by the sun

What is her skin care routine?

The night was filled with deep talks and laughs.

We stayed up all night getting to know each other, and I felt a deep connection beginning to bloom.

Gypsy feel asleep at around 6 AM next to me, but I've been up in my head since she closed her eyes.

I can't tell if I am feeling a powerful friendship or a chance of love.

There is no way, I've never felt this way towards a girl, besides Ariana Grande.

I don't want to be straight. My family is strictly against heterosexuals. I can't disappoint their liberal agenda.

Let's just hope this feeling passes.

I ease out of my bed and head to reach my phone,

4 NOTIFICATIONS:
Message: Kitty

Vivienne:
Hey Benson, how is California?

Sophia:
Yeah, we miss you a lot. It's been so cold here!

Will:
LMFAO who gonna tell him-

Alice:
Hallo?

Can they not take a hint?
I've been ignoring their messages since the farewell party.

I miss them a ton, but I know it's best for me to distance myself.

Maybe just one more chance?

I unlock my phone and type a brief response,

"Hey. Miss you guys too. California is beautiful, and my new room mate is nice."

I sent the messages and stared at my cold screen

Why do I keep doing this to myself.

I felt hot air sting the back of my neck

I quickly snap my head around and am met with Gypsy's cold gaze.

"Who are you texting."

My mouth drops open and I can't find any words to come out.

"I- Well- So- I- A-"

Gypsy's places her soft hands around my mouth to shut me up.

Her eyebrows furrow together to form a stern face.

"You told me you didn't like them. You said they hurt you. Why are you talking to them behind my back?"

My brain went static.

She's looking for the best in me. I went behind her back after I talked shit all night. Maybe she's right.

"I- I'm sorry"
My voice muffled between her fingers.

She took her hand off and grabbed my phone,

"WAIT STOP, DON'T-"

Gyspy hobbled onto her wheelchair with my phone in hand and raced to the bathroom.

"GYPSY STOP PLEASE-"

My legs were wrapped around my blankets causing me to trip and fall out of bed onto the hardwood floor as I tried to chase after her.

My head pounded onto the wood.

I pushed myself up and chased after her, but before I could grab her wheelchair handle, she turned and locked the bathroom door shut.

I jiggled the locked golden handle with my hands,

Then had to quickly resort to pounding the door with my fists.

"GYPSY PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR"
