Road Trip (not the song lol)

So I'm sitting in Wilbur's car.

How did I get here? Oh yeah, getting drunk.

"hey, do you need anything before we head off?" Wilbur said climbing into the car.

"nope, all good here." I said looking back down at my twitter feed. Wilbur started the car and handed me the aux.

"you pick. I really only listen to a selected portion" Wilbur said as he pulled out of my driveway.

"oh, um." you scrolled through your spotify playlist, "this should do"

Wilbur smiled to you as soon as he heard the song. "Really, my song?" You just laughed.

"what? The Internet Has Ruined Me is such a good one! My Twitter feed's like my brain

'Cause I have it on dark mode!" You sang as Wilbur just stared at the road with a big dorky smile on his face.

"You should pick another song, that's not mine" Wilbur said as he turned the music down.

"Okay fine" You went to your playlist and clicked shuffle, you hear "Wish You Were Sober" by Conan Gray start playing. "This good?"

"Hey It's getting dark, we almost to our first destination?" You asked closing your eyes

"Yes, but this destination isn't what you would normally think of." Wilbur said taking another drink of monster.

"You asshole, that was my monster" You said getting fake offended.

"Sorry love, a man needs to get his energy somewhere" Wilbur said flashing you a grin.

"Whatever Soot". You layed back in the seat, listening to the music play softly in the background. "What's your new song about?"

"Huh? oh, It's a surprise" Why is everything a surprise to this man? "I have the beat down, but I'm getting stuck on the lyrics, so I don't know when It'll be out"

"Gotcha" You replied getting a message on your phone.

"Hey, whatcha doing?" It was Clay

"Roadtrip, Don't know where I'm going tho, hopefully not a barn where I'll be left for dead. Lmao"

"That would suck wouldn't it?"

"Omg, asshole."

You turned your phone off.

"who was it?" Wilbur asked hesitantly

"Just Dream"

"oh, okay" Wilbur said turning the music up.

"You okay?" You seemed to notice the change of Wilbur's demeanor.

"Yeah, I'm just really tired. We are almost at the hotel we are staying at tonight, the actual surprise is tomorrow."

"Really?! All of that driving just to have to wait another day! Wilbur, you are by far the meanest person I have ever had to go on a trip with. And I've been on trips with many people, including my Dad." You said punching Wilbur's shoulder and glaring at him.

"Consider my timbers Shivered (Y/N)." Wilbur replied pulling into the hotel parking lot.

You lye in the bed as Wilbur set up his bed on the ground. He had agreed that you could take the bed because he didn't want you cranky for the trip because you got a sore back. As you turned over, Wilbur got up and turned the lights off. You could hear some shuffling, then silence, then you would hear shuffling again. You started to feel bad.

"Hey Wilbur. You can sleep up here if you want. um-" You choked on your words "If it's not uncomfortable with you". You squeezed your eyes shut, you shouldn't have said anything. You're an idiot, I swear to god. The bed dipped.

"Thank you (Y/N)." oh god-

"I just didn't want to hear you shuffling around all night. Don't let it go to your head soot." You turned away from him and closed your eyes.

"yeah, yeah whatever. Good night (L/N)." and with that you two were back to back, only left with the noises of the cars driving past, the other residents, and of course..Wilbur's soft breathing.
