1 MONTH BEFORE PRESENT DAY
Johanna's POV

THE city outside my window always knew how to comfort me. The bright lights which illuminated the night blurred my vision as I leaned against the full length glass, looking down before me. I was on the 30th floor of a building which stood in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. I smiled sadly as I realized I would probably be leaving this place soon. I was used to drifting from city to city, country to country, but I was really hoping I could stick around for just a little longer.

The sound of cars honking and techno music from the nearby club brought me out of my haze of thoughts, and I started mindlessly walking around my penthouse. I found myself in front of my tech set up, and with one click every monitor I owned turned on. The pop up I'd been dreading to talk about shone directly at me on each one. I knew exactly what it was the moment I laid eyes on it.

It was no secret I was on at least five different FBI watch lists. My years of hacking into every database I could find led me to a few dangerous people, and when they found out I was also extremely skilled in combat, lets just say I made some good money from the missions they set me up for. It wasn't rare for the bureau to recruit people under the radar. After all, if you can't beat em, join em.

The email sent to me from the FBI offered me a deal, better than anything I've ever seen in my life. A position in their Behavioral Analysis Unit- I could thank my bachelors degree in psychology for that- where I would be able to use all my of my skills for a good cause. The other option was I'd get busted, obviously I'm not a big fan of that.

I cracked my knuckles as I sat down in my chair, replying to the email. "Fuck it" I mumbled as I'd written out and sent my acceptance. I threw on my baggy leather jacket over my black slip dress, which hid an array of knives in a holster around my thigh, and paired it with my chunky black boots as I slipped away into the night city. I followed the sound of the music I heard earlier and let myself enjoy one more night of messing around.

1 DAY BEFORE PRESENT DAY

"Hotch, I just really don't see why we need a new agent" Derek looked between the rest of the team around the round table. "We're full."

"It's not my decision. It is, however, important to me to brief all of you on her. She's not your typical FBI agent." Aaron wasn't a big fan of a newcomer either, but ever since the situation with George Foyet around a month ago, Strauss has been closely monitoring the BAU and decided a new member was crucial.

The team listened closely as they waited for Hotch to go on. "Her name is Johanna Croft" he motioned to the board behind him which clearly showed her mugshot.

"No way" Emily started growing a mischevious smile. "An ex-con turned fed?" Derek chimed in. In a matter of seconds, each of them erupted into conversation. Emily, JJ, and Penelope seemed most excited for the new arrival, while Spencer, Derek, and Rossi had their suspicions.

"Alright" Hotch raised his voice and got everybody's attention once more. "She was arrested once when she was 20 for battery, but according to Strauss she's a great asset to the team." He felt strangely defensive over the new agent. Spencer looked down at the file Penelope was holding and scanned it for Johanna's age. "She's 31 now, that had to be 11 years ago" he furrowed his eyebrows as he turned back to Hotch.

JJ took the file in her own hands. "She graduated with a dual bachelors degree in psychology and criminology from Yale University at age 22, then seemed to go under the radar for a few years" she spoke with wide eyes.

"More like 9 years" Emily read the file over JJ's shoulder. "What was she doing?" she eyed Hotch. "SHE WAS BEING A SUPER BADASS CYBER QUEEN" Penelope excitedly chirped. "Sorry, sir" she smiled apologetically at Hotch. "But it's true, I tried to hack into her computers, you know precautionary background check and everything, and I couldn't get in" she frowned slightly. "Come on, babygirl you had to have found something" Derek nudged her elbow.

"Well, angel face," she started tapping on her keyboard. "Her online alias is 'Delicate Weapon' and, I admit, I was fangirling a little bit when I found that out because she is infamous in the cyberworld. A long, long time ago me and her had a short conversation about the wonders of the internet and she even bought me this really cool light up keyboard, it had these cute kitties-"

"Garcia" Hotch stopped her from rambling about the keyboard. "Right, sir, sorry. Moral of the story is people paint her out to be a ruthless person, there were even some assassin rumors, but she's really great."

"Aaron, how can we trust someone like her?" Rossi frowned. "Rossi's right, how do we know she wont just turn on us randomly?" Derek added.

"She won't. She'll be here tomorrow, be nice" Aaron said sternly before leaving the room.

"She's really pretty" Emily interrupted the silence. "I was thinking the exact same thing!" Penelope looked up from her computer. "I wonder if she'll tell me all the hacking tricks she has up her sleeve- I need to write these questions down! Bye you beautiful furry humans!" she gasped as she scurried out to her office.

The team laughed as Rossi stood up from his seat. "Well, you children have a good rest of your night. And you," he pointed to an annoyed Derek, "give her a chance."

"Fine" he sighed. "Night, Rossi" they told him collectively as they started to pack up their things and head home.
