you guys were on one of your missions. you spotted a two four-meter abnormal titans coming from behind you and some scouts. you grabbed your signal flare and shot it up to the sky. everyone saw a black smoke coming from the west. some scouts from the east came your way. while they rode their horses to your direction, you stood on your horse and grappled to the one of the titans shoulder. you successfully cut the nape but almost missed because the other titan tried to grab you. after you cut the nape of one of the titans, you fell to the ground. the abnormal titan had seen you fall and saw the chance to grab and devour you.  it grabbed you and you tried to use your swords to cut the hand, but you couldn't move your arms too much. the titan held you a bit too tight as you felt you body being squished. you finally cut the hand, but you ended up cutting yourself too. you cut yourself on your lower hip. you flinched in pain but used your ODM gear to grapple to the nearest tree. you were halfway there until the titan grabbed you with its other hand. it's large finger touched your cut and you groaned in pain. you were fighting his hand with your swords again, but failed as your head was already inside the titan's mouth. it was about to bite your head off until it let go of you and fell to the ground. you were about to fall down to, but then you felt arms around your stomach. you looked to see who saved you, and it was mikasa. you smiled so much and said,

"mikasa, thank god. thank you so much."
"of course, y/n."

she lowered her arms to your hips to get more grip. you then flinched in pain and mikasa looked at you.

"are you hurt, y/n ?!"
"yeah, i accidentally cut myself in my lower hip."
"i need to get you help."
"mikasa i'm just fine, i can still fight !"
"no."
"what ?! mikasa come on, we have to finish this mission !!"
"you're hurt, y/n. where's your horse ?"
"down there."

you pointed down to the right. mikasa then grappled onto a small tower, and slowly went down. you guys were on the floor, and you whistled for your horse. your horse came running to you and mikasa. mikasa put you on your horse and pet your horse's mane. you heard mikasa say to your horse,

"take her over there."

she pointed to a small abandoned house to the south. your horse started to run to the house, and you looked back at mikasa as she started to fight other titans. you felt bad that you couldn't help her. you guys got to the house, then you and your horse went inside and hid. you waited a few minutes. you looked outside the window to see blue smoke. you laid your back to the wall and hit your hand on your forehead.

"awh crap. the mission failed."

you and your horse went outside. you went onto your horse. even though you were hurt, you forced yourself to ride your horse to the direction you saw all the scouts. you were thinking how the mission failing could be your fault, until you saw all of the dead scouts bodies. you felt disgusted so you looked away like you saw nothing. you found mikasa and rode your horse to her. you were next to her and you said,

"mikasa !!"
"y/n ! are you alright ?? are you sure you should be taking control for your horse ?!"
"yes ! i can do it !! i promise !"
"no, i don't want to risk it. get on my horse. i'll connect your horse's gear to mine."
"but mikasa-"
"no y/n. i want you to be safe and not hurt yourself even more than you already are."

she grabbed your arms and carefully carried you onto her horse. you grabbed her waist for support as she connected the gear. you guys and the scouts then made your way to the wall. you guys got inside and saw people gather around all of you. they were all whispering and murmuring stuff like,

"they're back already ?"
"it hasn't even been a day, and they're already back."

but there was one comment that got your attention.

"god, they'll be the reason we all die. are they even trying ?!"

that made you so pissed. you got off mikasa's horse and walked over to the man who said that. mikasa saw you and was trying to tell you to stop and get back on the horse, but you didn't listen. you walked up to the man and gave him an uppercut punch to the face. everyone looked at you guys, even the scouts, captain, and commander. the scouts stopped their horses just because of you. the man was bleeding from his nose and mouth. he looked at you and yelled,

"WHAT THE HELL ?!"
"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT ?!"
"IT'S TRUE ! YOU GUYS OBVIOUSLY AREN'T TRYING YOUR BEST TO PROTECT US !!"
"EXCUSE ME ?! HOW ABOUT YOU GO OUTSIDE, HUH ? SEE HOW IT FEELS."
"NO WAY, I'LL DIE !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?!"

you were so pissed at this man. you lift up your shirt a bit to uncover the big cut on your hip.

"LOOK AT THIS AND TELL ME THAT WE AREN'T TRYING HARD ENOUGH TO PROTECT YOU GUYS."
"like that cut is my problem. you guys are lazy. you guys probably don't even try to save us."

you had enough of him. you grabbed his arm and dragged him on the floor. mikasa finally got off her horse and followed you. so did captain levi.

"LET GO OF ME PSYCHOPATH !!"

you went to the end of the wall and to the gate.

"how about i open this gate and leave you outside, hm ?!"
"WHAT ?! NO NO ARE YOU CRAZY ?!"
"maybe i am. you're so annoying and you're pissing me off so bad. go out there, and tell me that the scouts here and i are lazy and don't try our best to protect people. you know, you're so lucky to have us here, or else you would already be dead."

you grabbed the wing collar of his shirt and put his face close to yours and said,

"i hope you like being fresh meat."
"WAIT NO NO NO DON'T LEAVE ME OUT THERE !!"

you were about to open the gate until captain levi stopped you by putting his arm over your chest.

"don't."

you and levi stared at each other for a few seconds. you heard the man sobbing, scared to die. you looked at him. you looked back at levi and he said,

"y/n."

you pushed the man by letting go the his wing collar. he kept sobbing and you said,

"you better shut up. you're not dying today, i guess."

you and levi walked away from him.

"y/n, don't make a scene in front of everyone."
"it wasn't my fault that guy couldn't be grateful for us. without us, he'd be devoured by some ugly titan."

you walked away from levi and walked to mikasa.

"are you okay, y/n ?"
"yeah mikasa. he just made me really upset."
"it's okay, y/n. i'd be pissed, too. also, nice uppercut,"
"thanks !"

you guys laughed a bit and walked back to your horses.
