𝗦𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹 (𝗲𝗹𝗶 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗸𝗼𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇, 𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗸)

Saturday morning was Cynthia's day, it was her birthday. She was finally turning 18. Since her boss loved her so much she told Cynthia to have a day off. Cynthia was happy that she could take a day off.

Luckily Cynthia also got to see her dad today, her dad picked her early morning and took her to his house to celebrate with her siblings and step mom.

Cynthia went to IHOP for breakfast very early. 5 am early, she got a crepe and some fruit to the side with apple juice. There were two things Cynthia looked forward to in the summer, her birthday and parties.

When they finished eating, her dad went to pick up her siblings and decided to go to knotts. It was a smaller amusement park but it had great rides. The lines weren't as full as they usually were either.

"thanks dad," she told him as they were walking in line.
"no problem kiddo," he says and hugs her.

"i was looking forward to seeing you, i missed you so much. i forced my mom to find a new job because i'm tired of working all day for her to do nothing at home," she tells him, he gives her advice and tells her she's always welcomed at his house.

By 5 pm, they were done with the park and where just looking for memories. They took a lot of pictures and bought lots of souvenirs. 

When they got to their dad's home Cynthia's step mom had made her a minimalist cake, with her favorite, cream cheese frosting. Cynthia loved the way her step mom cared for them and made the most amazing cakes.

"thank you mama," she told her and hugged her.
"YAYY CAKE!!!" yelled jacob, "jacob you are so loud," said bella making the whole family laugh.

They all sat down and sang happy birthday to her and decided to eat some cake. When they finished it was time their dad dropped them off. They were all so sad. But cynthia was going to come see them more often, she decided to break her mom's rules. she was 18 now and wanted to be closer to her dad.

After being dropped off Cynthia put the kids to sleep and headed to 7-11.

"Hey Cynthia!" said Hawk.
"hey pretty boy, i brought you some cake," she says smiling.

"thank you. it looks cute, did you make it?" he asks
"no, my step mom did. it's for my birthday," she says smiling.

"oh wow, happy birthday," he says smiling.
"thanks." cynthia got coffee today instead. she felt as she had too many sweets.

"coffee?" hawk asks
"yup. i'm growing up," she says laughing, "kidding. i had too much sweets today."

"can you talk to me today?" she asks and the boy nods, "it's your birthday."

"great. thanks." she tells him, "so is like hawk your real name or?"

he shakes his head no, "my actual name is Eli."
"oh cool. do you have a girlfriend?" she asks

"nope."
"dope, so can i have ur number? oh shit- sorry omg-"
cynthia meant to say it in her mind. how embarrassed.

"yeah for sure," he said and wrote it in a paper for her and handed it. "also coffee is on the house," he said smiling.

"thanks Eli," she said giggling.
The two talked for an hour. How they both hated summer and their jobs and how they were ready to leave home and travel the world.

"it's getting late, i have to check if my mom is okay," cynthia tells him , "goodnight. thanks for talking to me pretty boy." she tells him and leaves.

When she gets home she sees balloons and a sign with, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYNTHIA!"

"happy 18 my baby," her mom tells her and hugs her.

"thanks mom," she says hugging her back

The two ladies watched the twilight movies, they're favorite. they loved everything about it even if some parts were dumb.

"guess what!" her mom told her, "i got a job!"

"really! that's fantastic mom, where at?" she asked

"it's at the mall, i'm gonna be a cashier. they're paying me 10 an hour. i have saturday's and sunday's off too!"

Cynthia felt relieved. She had gotten a huge thing off her back. "wow mom, i'm proud of you!" she told her.

"yes honey, now you can only work some days and i'll take charge of the others. i'll help out with the bills now too!" she told her.

Cynthia boss has always told her that when things were great in the house she woukd reduce her days. Cynthia didn't want to say anything until her mom was actually showing signs of staying at her job.

"and i promise not to drink a lot anymore. i realized how bad of a mom i have been. i'm going to a center to get over my addiction." she said.

Cynthia had actual hopes this time. It was like her wish came true. it was a birthday miracle.
