THE SCENET OF COFFEE, AND APPLE CRISPS FILLED THE AIR in the cold, quiet hours before daylight. Roxy found their limbs tangling underneath the freshly washed sheets, breaths on her skin where her shoulder meets here neck "I think the moon is a lesbian" the brunette whispered nestling her head against Stella's chest sighing when the blondes heartbeat melted against her ears.
"Ro, you think everything that breaths is a lesbian" the solarian whispered back her fond gaze dropping down to the brunette against her chest who was now sporting a pout "Well it's not my fault that every living organism gets my gaydar going" and before the princess could help herself she dropped a kiss to the younger's forehead, her internal monologue (that sounded suspiciously like her mother's voice) began screaming.

"The sunset is so pretty, Stella." The brunette mumbled as she watched the sun bloom on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards and dribbling their golden light like syrup over oatmeal. Leaves shimmering like a mirror flecked mosaic and the morning dew bejewelled the cobwebs and grass. Stella turned her gaze towards the younger watching as the copper hues kissed her skin. She couldn't help but admire her skin freckled with film grain the same way the night sky was freckled with constellations, mouth parted like velvet curtains only to reveal the sweetest prose.

And suddenly they were two storms colliding, kisses rush like ether, like saltwater filling the lungs and yet, curiously, Stella felt like she could breathe clearer than she could have ever done so before.
This is right.
And so Stella falls, she lets herself find sanctuary in the crest of Roxy's lips and she couldn't help but wonder if the younger ones lips were made for sunrise-lit kisses as she felt herself melt.
Maybe this was Helen of troy crossing the Aegean Sea, knowing all too well the risks, maybe this was the start of the trojan war. Maybe this would become a Greek epic- untold, unwritten, and dissolving in the shores. And Stella thinks it wouldn't be so bad to stay in the fleeting safety of the brunette's arms for a little bit longer.
ROXY WAKES UP ALONE, PLAYING BACK ALL THE SCENES of that April morning, where she melted in Stella's arms. Now, she closes them, without the blonde around, wrestling with these fixations trying to convince herself that one more recall of the memories would be the last; one more make-believe, one more fantasy wouldn't hurt.
One more-
"Roxy! Hurry up you're going to be late for your first day." The brunette snaps out of it, the scent of coffee and apple crisps disappearing and the fresh scent of petrichor filling her nose. Kiko rubs his nose against her hand, asking if she was alright. She just smiles knowing to say yes would be a lie.
That April had taken it all away and now all she knew were lies and heartbreaks in the early hours of a cold morning.
She swoops her basket and places her rabbit and frog inside dusting the wet moss of her dress and running towards her brother and Silva who were both watching her with fond exhaustion.
Lips curling into a huge smile as she wrapped her hand around their arms pulling them to the car "To Alfea we go!"
