Love is an illusion

Chapter 3

Staring at her pale face, I could not help but wonder what motivated her to want to leave this world...

I want to be with her, to love her...but I can't. Dammit, I wish my parents gave her a chance! I cannot do this to her anymore. I cannot hurt her anymore...she...she deserves to be happy...

"Vlad?"

Snapping back to reality, I looked up to a lady dressed up in her favorite summer dress with her hair braided back looking as neat as ever, looking at me, in worry....my sister.

"Seline? What is wrong?

"I...well...umm." Looking to the floor nervously she tried to gain the courage to speak.

"Seline, speak." I ordered her firmly not in any mood to wait.

"Right...umm...after you left the school, I went back to the ladies' room to pick up Adri's stuff and when I picked up her bag..."

Walking toward me with a worn-out leather book, she stops a few steps away and holds the book out.

"This fell out and out of curiosity...I may have read a page or two." a look of worry in her eyes.

"Seline what exactly are you trying to say?" my patience is wearing out as my sister beats around the bush. What is it about this book that she is talking to me so nervously? She's not even looking at me!

"I'm trying to tell you to read it Vlad...I...I think you should..." Glancing up at me she diverts her gaze to Adrienne before once again looking to the floor. What's so interesting about the floor? She is starting to worry me.

Handing me the book, she rushes out the door leaving me in a state of confusion...what is in this book that I need to read. Did she write about something...? Did something happen...? Why didn't she ever talk to me? My imagination was running wild with all the questions. Should I read it? What if she hid from me for a reason...well...obviously! But she wouldn't know...I...what is wrong with me?! 

Finally looking up to her, I watch the woman I love, lay in a state of unconsciousness looking the most peaceful I had ever seen her in since I met her. Sighing I move my line of vision back to the book...I need to know if something happened.
