Let's start at the beginning: on October 1, 1989, 43 women around the world – who hadn't been pregnant at the start of the day – gave birth to babies. Billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted as many of the babies as possible – managing to round up eight of them. The kids all had superpowers, and Sir Reginald (quite brutally) trained them to be crime-fighting heroes called the Umbrella Academy (except Vanya, but we'll get to her later).

Let me make this clear. I am not a number. Just because my super-rich dad named me Eight doesn't mean I am a number. Get ready because this is not a nice fairytale with lovely unicorns and rainbows. This story talks about my family, and they don't mess around. Let me introduce them
My brother, number One, Luther Hargreeves. His power is strength, he is a real big pain.
My other brother, number Two, Diego Hargreeves. He can stop bullets and has a deadly accurate aim. He's cool.
My sister, number Three, Allison Hargreeves. She can rumor people. She is nice, but worries too much.
My other, other brother, number Four, Klaus Hargreeves. He can speak and sometimes use the dead people. He is always mostly high, or drunk.
My favorite brother, number Five, Five Hargreeves. Can teleport and travel through time. He's not really friendly.
My dead brother, number Six, Ben Hargreeves. He is powerful but dead. He talks to Klaus and tries to give him good advice.
My other sister, number Seven, Vanya Hargeeves. She is dangerous when she plays her violin. She is amazing.
And then there's me, number Eight, Eight Hargreeves. I can read minds and have telekinesis.
Me and my siblings are not directly related, so that is why Luther and Allison have a pretty interesting story, Vanya had been lied to by our dear adoptive father, we have a monkey butler, and you'll see more about me later in the story.
