The Week

Monday is stern, a serious one.
The week, it has started, and there's work to be done.
With phone calls and meetings and school runs each way,
It is safe to assume he's the busiest day.

Tuesday, his wife, a woman in blue.
She takes care of the home and goes to work too.
Art classes, homework, and stress at its peak.
She tries to hold on, for the rest of the week.

Wednesday, her deadlines are in disarray.
Was chemistry due? Were her finals today?
With worry and confusion, she lays on her bed,
And tries to sleep to aid her aching head.

Thursday; what a go-getter this young chap has been!
With Crossfit and Scout troupes, he's a lean, mean machine!
Extra pep in his step, and a smile filled with pride,
He's raring to go, so others must step aside!

Friday, oh my! A caution, a plight!
A social butterfly, but disappears in the night!
She finished up work, and to the bars she went!
By early next morning, half her income was spent!

Saturday, the sporty one, Friday's twin sister!
Football, karate, you bet she'll enlist here!
And at dusk, she meets Friday on the club down the street,
In the world of parties, she cannot be beat!

And finally Sunday, the elder, the wise.
The humble churchgoer with tired grey eyes.
He goes to his service and shuffles back home,
And rests until he's woken by Monday's ringing phone.

The week is a funny bunch, you and I they will amaze.
And it's funny to think, that they're only seven days.
