before the waves crash upon the shore,
the girl is shivering and calls;
for she is in plight,
but it is too late as a tsunami of water launches up and soon travels down,
and the girl is on the ground,
not moving nor blinking
let us see the boy then,
worried out of his mind,
he is unsure where his lover has gone,
is she still at the ocean?-
probably not, at her best friend's?-
no, he realizes, she is with him
so he takes off alone, ready to fight,
for her, and for his anger to cool,
but he passes the waves on his way,
and stops by with a heart full of doubt, fear,
and doubt again
and despair sets in,
for she is on the marbled brown and gold ground,
unblinking, unflinching, unmoving, it's undebatable she has lost,
the boy is numb soon enough, sadness and angst,
making him fall and fall and fall
despair does such things,
stepping on shattered glass,
the remains of a young girl,
in a city far away,
until the funeral day, crying on the podium,
but he has no right
he lost her
he lost the fight
against despair
