today was not one of your best days.

you recently came back from your mission and felt as gloomy as ever.

usually, you would feel relief to be at home and run into inumaki's arms.

but after what had happened, you went straight to your dorm. no greetings, no communication. just isolation.

inumaki was very concerned since you didn't say hi to him.

he went to your dorm room and knocked but no avail to your response.

"kelp..?" he quietly said as he knocked.

you heard his voice from afar and you knew that you couldn't avoid him any longer.

you opened the door to see a sadden inumaki at your doorstep. he looked at you with puppy eyes, ones you couldn't resist. you leaned against the door frame, staring deeply into his violet ones.

"hey." you softly said.

"mustard leaf.." he replied with a frown.

you leaned in to give him a hug, needed for his comfort. you didn't want to show any sad emotions, especially not in front of him. however, you couldn't hold it in.

you clung around his waist and buried your face into his chest. you were silently weeping tears and too embarrassed to look at him in the eye.

"i-i'm sorry.." you croaked.

inumaki heard the sadness in your tone and returned the hug. he rubbed circles on your back as a sign of comfort.

"salmon cod roe.." he whispered.

even though you didn't want to look, he patted your head to reassure you that it's okay.

you slowly looked up, revealing your sadden state.
he frowned at your look, considering the fact he hates to see you sad.

tears kept forming and you began to look down on the floor, trying to wipe the tears away.

suddenly, he cupped your cheek and slightly lifted your head up.

you were now staring at his beautiful face. he rubbed tiny circles on your cheek and wiped the tears away with his other hand. he gave you a small smile and kissed you on the forehead.

you returned the smile and hugged him again. he didn't mind the silence, nor did you.

he couldn't comfort with words but will do anything he can with the love and affection he has for you.
