Y/N POV:
Me and my family are sitting at a small café in L.A, we're on vacation from living in our small town in Missouri. I find myself staring outside the large window drifting into my own thoughts, when I hear the bells on the door chime and I look to the door to see a boy, about my age. He was very cute, gorgeous blue eyes and brown hair. After him was his family, a girl, a bit younger than us, and 2 other boys, i'm assuming these were his siblings. After them walked in a grown man and woman, i'm also assuming his parents. They sit down at a round table at the other end of the café. I keep looking at him, but how could I not? He's beautiful.
"Geez stare much" My brother Clay says. Oh god, he must have caught me looking at him.
I start to respond when I'm interrupted by a thud on the window. No one but me, that guy and my brother noticed. I step closer to the windows seeing a bird outside laying on the ground. I sense my brother waking up behind me.
"You should go help it, you're the only one with long sleeves on" he points out. "Which is weird because we're in L.A, but you can hold the bird without getting some weird bird disease."
"What, I forgot it was warm in November here" I reply.
"Whatever, I'll tell mom and dad what your doing. Go and help that bird" He tells me "Hey maybe lover boy over there will come and help" he nudges my shoulder and let's out a chuckle.
"I was planing on helping the bird, but now I'm scared..thanks" I say
"Hey what a big brothers for" he says with a cheeky grin on his face.
I let out a sigh and walk outside. I see the bird laying in the ground, letting out sad chirps. It's really sad to watch it on the ground like that. I hear the door open behind me. I turn around to see the so called "lover boy" walking towards me.
Oh god.
"Hey, I saw you walking out here to help that bird and figured you could use some help" he says with a warm, welcoming smile.
I remember I have to actually speak to him and prepare myself for the worst.
"Oh..yea..thanks" I say awkwardly trying not to scare him off.
We both kneel on the ground to see the dark blue bird trembling in fear.
"Also I'm Daniel" he says holding out his hand to shake mine.
"I'm..Y/N" I say holding out a very shaky and sweaty hand.
He shakes my hand still smiling as I smile back. He lets go of my hand and asks "so how are we going to help him?"
"Well it looks like he's in shock so he needs to be in the dark and silence."
We help the bird by putting him under a bush and trying to cover his ears. We do this for about 10 minutes with some random conversations in-between until the bird gets up.
"We did it!!" He says super excitedly with a smile on his face. His hand is in the air indicating a high-five. I hit his hand and smile at him.
"Hey, do you want my number, maybe we can hang out sometime. You seem cool" he says. I'm in total shock, god he actually kinda likes me I guess..never in a million years would I imagine someone like that would like me.
"Sure" I say snapping out of my trance. We exchange numbers and both head back on the building.
"How'd it go with Lover Boy?" Clay asks smiling like a moron drinking his sweet tea as I walk back to the table.
"Shut up" I say, I can feel my self turn red as I sit back down next to my mom. My parents let out a chuckle as I slump in my chair embarrassed.
