1991

Lesath and Draco were waiting their whole lives for this day, September 1st. Today would be boarding the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They would learn transfiguration, potions, charms, and most importantly- flying. Lucius allowed Draco and Lesath to get a headstart on their flying skills. 'Always be prepared,' He would say. Draco was excited to learn how to handle a broom. Once he learned the basics, he would always brag about how he would be on the Slytherin Quidditch team. Whenever he mentioned this to Lesath, she'd say, "How do you know that you'll be in Slytherin?"

"Because I just do. It's in my blood, and in yours too," He said confidently. "Lots of purebloods are in Slytherin, but that's not the only reason."

Lesath chuckled. "I know. You've been talking about the qualities of the houses for weeks."

"I wonder if Harry Potter will be in Slytherin. . . What do you think?"

"Maybe. But, he must feel awkward being all popular on his first day."

"Don't be silly, Lesath. Potter won't feel awkward because we're gonna be his friends!"

---

That morning, Draco got up early, and made sure to wake up Lesath too. He stood over them and shook them awake.

"Sathy, wake up! We're gonna be late!"

"Ugh. . ." Lesath rubbed their eyes as Draco opened the curtains. "What are you doing? The sun hasn't even risen yet." Draco had already done his hair. Every single blonde strand slicked back into its place.

"We're going to need all the time we can get in order to fix ourselves and get to Kings Cross in time." Lesath sat up in bed, still adjusting to being woken up so early. "Come on!"

"Alright, alright, I'm coming." Lesath slowly got out of bed, fetched their bathrobe and headed towards the bathroom to shower, brush their teeth and tidy up.

Lesath made it back to their room to put on some clothes. Lesath chose something comfortable, yet stylish for the long trip to Kings Cross and on the Hogwarts Express. Lesath finished packing everything in their trunk and called Dobby, the family house elf, to help her bring it downstairs. Breakfast was already set out on the dining table. Lesath took a seat across from Draco.

"You look tired." Draco said as she sat down.

"I wouldn't be tired if you didn't wake me up so early."

"Tea, Miss Malfoy?" Dobby offered.

"Yes, please." She held out her mug for Dobby to fill. "Thanks."

"Sathy, did you know that Harry Potter is going to be attending Hogwarts this year, too?"

"Do you want cream and sugar as well?" Dobby asked again.

Lesath nodded at Dobby before responding to Draco. "You've said that before."

"I-I know! But, you can't just expect me to forget about someone who defeated You-Know-Who as a baby! A BABY, LESATH! Can you believe that? Must be a very powerful wizard. . ."

"It could mean that he's a powerful wizard, or that He Who Must Not Be Named was afraid of babies." She joked.

Lucius walked into the kitchen, groggily while wearing a bathrobe. His hair was a mess.

"What are you two doing up so early?" He asked as he took a seat at the table.

"Draco woke me up. . ." She looked up at her father and chuckled. "By the way, Dad, nice hair." Draco laughed.

"Hush," He stood up and grabbed a piece of toast. "As soon as your mother and I are finished getting ready, we're leaving. Oh! Forgot to mention that we're going to be taking ministry cars."

"The fancy ones?" Draco perked up excitedly and Lesath looked at her father with excitement.

"Of course, we're taking the fancy ones. The only good thing about those mud-bloods are their cars. . ." Lucius wiped his hands and mouth clean with a napkin, "Make sure all your things are downstairs so the house elf can load them into the cars when they arrive." He walked off to get ready.

-----

The lengthy car ride was the exciting for Draco and Lesath, but quite annoying for Lucius and Narcissa. Every couple minutes the kids would ask, "Are we there yet? How about now? Father, I'm nauseous! Mum. . . Dad. . . how much longer?!?!" They would both whine. Only to be met with, "Not yet, dear. It's only been twenty minutes." and eventually, from their father, "If you ask if we're there yet or complain about anything the for the rest of the ride, I'm making them take the car back around and you can miss your first day at Hogwarts."

After a long car ride, they finally arrived to Kings Cross Station. Both of the Malfoy children had their trunks and other supplies loaded onto their carts.

"Alright," said Narcissa. "To get to Platform 9 3/4, we'll have to run into this wall here."

"Wall?" Lesath asked nervously. Out of the corner of their eye, they could see Draco smirking and looking cooly at the brick wall.

"Draco, you seem ready." Lucius placed a gentle gloved hand on his son's shoulder. "Why don't you try first?"

Draco smirked and confidently ran straight into the wall with his trolley. As soon as he hit the wall, he was gone.

"See?" Narcissa turned to Lesath. "Very simple, nothing to be afraid of."

"But, what if it doesn't work?"

Lucius rolled his eyes. "Oh, don't be ridiculous! Just pass through like the rest of the children, we'll be right behind you!"

Lesath took a deep breath and shut their eyes tight before running into the wall with their cart. Before she knew it, she was at Platform 9 3/4! Draco had been waiting for her.

"What took you so long?"

Their parents had arrived shortly after Lesath had built the courage to walk through the wall. "I was just a bit nervous," Lesath said.

Lucius checked the time on his pocket watch. "You two should probably go now, the train is leaving in ten minutes."

"I'll miss you both," Draco said.

"Me too," Lesath and Draco wrapped their arms around their mum and dad for a goodbye-hug, but the most Lucius gave was a small pat on each of their backs. Lucius and Narcissa watched their children board the train and waved them goodbye as the Hogwarts Express left Kings Cross Station.
