Brielle
Once I arrive home, I drop my bag at the door and lock the front door behind me, heading for the bathroom, turning the hallway light on as I go I peel the dripping wet clothes off my body.
Turning the handles of the shower taps I adjust the water to the perfect temperature not too hot not to cold.
Replaying the memories of tonight, I get a sense of worry wash over me, I hope he made it home and okay. I can't imagine what the stress would be like after taking on one of them to a thriving and still rising business as the one William has inherited.
Shaking the thoughts off I continue to wash my body with shea butter and honey body wash. Rinsing myself off I turn the taps off, reaching and grabbing the towel of the shower railing wrapping my body in it before heading to my room.
Once I'm dried and got a clean pair of knickers on with an oversized t-shirt I pull the covers back to my bed and jump in falling into a deep and much-needed sleep.
~the next day~
quickly shuffling to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face I continue to apply a light layer of makeup. I stupidly forgot to set my alarm and overslept now I'm 10 minutes behind my morning routine.
not bothering with breakfast I get dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans pairing it with a plain black t-shirt and a grey cardigan, walking to the door I slip my black flat boots on, grabbing my keys I head for the door.
parking my car outside of the bookstore I work "Luv books" I grab my bag and laptop locking my car I head inside.
"good morning sunshine I was a little shocked this morning when I realise I beat you? of all people miss Brielle to work" I hear jake announce as I walk through the door rolling my eyes I continue to the front desk placing my bag and keys on the lower cupboard.
"oh I can imagine I forgot to set my alarm last night, it won't happen again so I hope you absorbed it all up" poking my tongue at him smirking, pushing passed him I head to the trolley with returned books that need to be placed back on the shelves.
too busy in my thoughts I didn't hear the bell ring above the front door, hearing muffled voices I continue to place the books on the shelves until I feel a tap on my shoulder and the clearing of a throat.
"hi, I'm looking for a book by Stephen King called the long walk" hearing that familiar voice I turn around surprised to see me miller has taken my offer to read the book.
"oh..hi, uh sorry I'm just a little taken back, sure follow me this way" boring for him to follow I lead the way down the aisle until we got the back corner to where I know off by heart Stephen king's books rest, running my hand over the top of the books until I land on the one I want I pull it out and turn to William.
"I'm glad you took my advice into reading this book" I hand the book to William and lead the way back to the front register.
"so will you be borrowing the book or buying it?" I glance up to see William glaring at jake over my shoulder, turning around I give jake a stare as if saying so away for a minute.
turning back to William I notice him watching jake walk away with a stern look on his face.
"is he your boyfriend or something?"
snapping my head up staring at him with such disgust on my face.
"God no, he is just a friend of mine" I blurt out not wanting to give him any ideas blushing I raise the book "so borrowing or buying?"
"good, I'll buy it" he smirks with his expression changing after my announcement.
scanning the book I place it in a brown paper bag, you know save the environment and all
"that will be $19.99" I announce, William smiles and hands me a 50 dollar bill with a smirk he says "keep the change"
"wait will,.. uh sorry William" I rush around the counter to stand in front of him seeing his bodyguard waiting by the door in a suit and dark glasses.
lookup with embarrassment I see him smirking down at me.
"you can call me will if you please" I nod and brace myself for what I'm gonna say quite frankly scared for his reply.
"Why did you care so much about my relation to jake?" looking up and searching his features for any hints as to why.
"I knew him back in college he is sleazy and I was afraid it might ruin my chance to get to know you" blushing at his statement I look down at my fumbling fingers.
"Oh well no he's my friend, it was good seeing you will I hope you have a good rest of your day" I smile as he heads toward the door before turning back to me with a charming smile
"Same goes to you Brielle" before he ducks out the door nodding to his bodyguard before getting in his sports car and racing off.
Lost in thought I didn't realise his bodyguard walking towards me.
"hello miss Brielle, I'm carter Mr millers bodyguard he has given me this to hand to you, we hope you can make it," he says while handing me a card for the gala ball at the beautiful restaurant near the docks.
"Wait is this the Children's charity gala?" I ask carter before he ducks out the door.
"Yes, miss Brielle it is, why?"
Smiling to myself I hand the card back to carter
"Tell Mr William I already have an invitation as I'm on the committee and thank you but I will see him there" Carter smiles before nodding and bidding his goodbye.
Watching Carter Drive off my heart does backflips, omg William wanted me as his plus one.
Smiling I quickly text Ellie giving her all the juicy deets and how we need to go shopping for a jaw-dropping ball dress!
