Chapter 1 Red Roses (Pt 1)

15 years has passed since Dante was adopted by Summer Rose and her family. He fit in for the most part but was known to goof around and cause trouble. Despite that, his family loved and cherished him.

Now, it was late at night and he was at a store named "From Dust Till Dawn" with his sister, Ruby. Ruby had her headphones in and was reading a magazine about weapons while Dante was reading a magazine about swimsuit models.

Dante: (turns the page and whistles) Nice

While they were reading, the old shopkeeper was moping the floor while humming a tune to himself when suddenly he looked up to see four men wearing black suits and sunglasses each pointing a gun at him. Another man in a white suit and bowler hat stepped forward in the middle while swinging his cane. It was revealed to be the infamous gangster, Roman Torchwick.

Roman: Do you know how hard it is to find a dust shop opened so late?

The old shopkeeper was frozen for a second before finally speaking.

Shopkeeper: Say that again, I couldn't hear you over the sound of me shitting myself.

The four men lowered their guns and looked at each other in disgust while Roman simply shook his head.

Roman: (to his men) You four, go get the dust! (To the shopkeeper) and you... go change your trousers.

The the four henchmen went to collect the dust when one of them noticed Ruby with her back to him. He unsheathed his sword, walked over to her and pointed the sword at her.

Henchman: Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em. (No response) Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?

He walked over to her and turns her around, the hood dropped revealing a surprised Ruby wearing headphones. He motioned her to lower them which she does.

Ruby: Yes?

Henchman: I said, put your hands in the air, now!

Ruby: Are you... robbing me?

Henchman: Yes!

Ruby: Ooohhh...

While the henchman attempted to rob Ruby, another one saw Dante sitting on a bench with his feet on crossed on the table while reading the swimsuit magazine. He cocked his gun, walked over to him and pointed the gun at him.

Henchman: Put your hands where I can see them, kid!

Dante glanced over at him, completely disinterested and went back to the magazine. The henchman grew frustrated and shouted at him.

Henchman: I said, put your hands where I can see them, now!!!

Dante: (picking his ear) I can hear you, you don't have to shout.

Henchman: Then put your hands where I can see them!

Dante: What, you can't see them right now? You should probably replace those sunglasses with real ones.

As Dante went back to reading, the henchman snatched it from his hands and placed it on the table. Dante sighed.

Dante: Look pal, if you want to play cops and robbers, you got the wrong guy. Just rob the store and get the hell out.

Dante grabbed the magazine but the henchman snatched again and threw it away. Dante looked up at the henchman and smiled.

Dante: Alright, I guess I got some time to kill.

Roman is waiting for his men when he hears a "Hey!" Followed by a "Hyah!" One of the men flies past him. Him and two men look to see Ruby smiling at them. They hear a "Wait!" They look over and see another man on the ground with Dante standing on top of him. Dante kicks the ground and slides across the floor with the henchman as a skateboard. He heads towards Roman as the two men get their guns ready, Dante jumps towards them and kicks one of the men, sending both of them out the window.
