New York. I've always loved coming here. I usually only have time on tours but it's only because of the whole singing biz.

I had plugged in my earphones and started blasting my music, wanting to go anywhere. I didn't care when I got off the subway. I just needed a new adventure.

Once a free seat opened, I sat down and put my phone in my pocket. I couldn't have been more than two stops later that I saw her.

Long red hair pulled back into a neat high pony, a summer dress that seemed to look a little uncomfortable on her, and black combat boots. Her shawl was white, matching the baby blue dress and she wore a purse strapped onto her shoulder.

She was breath taking.

I quickly looked away, realising that I was staring and slid down more in my seat. I can't go after a girl now. I'm only in New York for the week.

The subway suddenly took a hard stop, screeching loudly as it did. Before I could even look up, someone landed hard on my lap.

I looked up and there she was, trying not to fall anymore than she already was. I quickly wrapped my arms around her and steadied her, holding her close.

"You okay?" I asked, taking out my ear phones.

"Yeah. I'm so sorry." She looked down and blushed, embarrasment clear on her face.

"No biggie." I smiled and held out my hand for her to take. "I'm Reed."

"Reed Deming," she took my hand and shook. "I know. My friend loves you."

I smiled. "And you?"

"You're music is good." She smirked. "And you have a cute nose but over all, you're alright."

I chuckled, sensing her teasing. "Thanks."

"Anytime."

The doors opened and the girl got up quickly to leave.

"Wait!" I called after her. "I don't even know your name."

She turned back and smiled. "It's Catherine."

"Will I ever see you again?" I asked.

She shrugged. "Try wishing on a star." She smiled and then she was gone.

I saw her in Phili the next week after that on my next tour date. She had come with the friend who was in love with me.

But I was more captured by her. Catherine and I hung out and talked over Skype as I kept moving around on tour. It became a thing and in about a year, I was ready to ask her out.

"So did you really wish on a star, Deming?" She asked over skype one night.

I smiled and nodded. "Yes." That was the honest truth.

"Well who knew stars could make wishes come true." Catherine smiled.

We both took a huge spoonful of our ice cream and stuck it in our mouths. It's what we did. Ate ice cream and talked.

"So, any other wishes you'd like to make about me?" Cathy teased.

I put my spoon in the ice cream and smiled weakly. I was too nervous to eat anymore. "Yeah actually..."

"Okay. Spill." Cathy took a smaller spoonful before putting it in her mouth.

"I wished last night that you would be mine." I confessed.

Catherine put the spoon down and stared at her bed sheets as if she was thinking.

"You....." she said after a little while. "You..... actually wanna be with me?"

"Every minute of every day." I said, softly.

"Reed, we're so far away from each other." Catherine said sadly.
"I know. But I'm willing to make it work." I said.

Catherine nodded and looked at me. "I can't. It'll be too much for me. I'm sorry, Reed."

I nodded, understanding her fear. I only half expected her to say yes since this was a longshot after all.

"But don't give up. Someday, we'll be together. I have faith in that." She said with a smile.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Okay."

"Don't give up on me." She said.

"Never."

And that is our always and forever.

How are these so far??
